Chapter 119: Killing, Myriad Manifestations
The black warship soon arrived in the air in front of Yuntian and his companions, hovering at a height of ten meters above the ground.
Standing upon the deck were rows of black-armored warriors exuding a heavy, murderous aura. Seeing them, Xia Qing was the first to lose his composure, gasping in disbelief, "The Black Armor Army?"
While Yuntian and the others were unaware, Xia Qing knew the true terror of the Yun Clan’s Black Armor Army. They were the clan’s elite force; every member was an innate lifeform, and equipped with their Daoist-grade armor, a hundred of them could contend with an average Zifu-level cultivator.
Even more formidable than the soldiers were the two figures standing at the prow: a handsome young man in a cyan brocade robe and a burly man in black armor. Their presence was overwhelming, even more powerful than the warship itself—they were clearly Zifu cultivators.
The burly man in black armor, in particular, stood like a demon god, his aura surging. He was a master who had reached the Zifu realm through the cultivation of the Divine Demon Body. He was no ordinary Zifu cultivator, but one at the peak of the realm, merely a step away from breaking through to become a Wanxiang Adept.
"Attack! Capture them all!" the handsome man in the cyan robe commanded with a sharp, piercing gaze fixed on Yuntian.
Instantly, the Black Armor Army responded with a thunderous roar. The mysterious runes on their black armor lit up, drawing in the surrounding natural energy. Dozens of soldiers surged toward Yuntian like a tidal wave.
Faced with such an imposing force, Xia Qing, Xia Yunhu, and Xia Yunling trembled, their limbs turning weak under the crushing pressure.
Yuntian, however, remained calm. As the soldiers closed in, he lifted his hand with an air of casual indifference and struck out with a slow, deliberate palm. The space seemed to freeze instantly. The Black Armor Army soldiers shuddered, their eyes widening in shock, before their auras plummeted. They fell from the sky, their bodies collapsing into mangled heaps of flesh and blood upon hitting the ground.
"What? He didn't use any magical artifacts, nor did he even touch them... is this the power of the Dao?" The handsome man in the cyan robe blanched, staring at Yuntian in utter disbelief.
Beside him, the burly man narrowed his eyes. "A domain of the Dao? No wonder he could kill Black Nightmare. It seems he truly is a reincarnated immortal whose soul has awakened, allowing his realm to reach such a high level."
Thinking to himself that Yuntian’s physical strength must be weak and lacking in powerful artifacts, the burly man leaped from the warship. He flipped his hand to reveal a dark-gold mace and, channeling his divine power, struck at Yuntian with overwhelming force.
As the mace descended, causing the very air to tremble, Yuntian lifted his hand with that same slow, leisurely motion. With a dull thud, he easily blocked the blow.
"What?" The burly man retreated, shuddering. He stared at Yuntian in shock. "How is this possible? No, it’s not just the power of his Dao domain; the energy erupting from his hand is immense. Divine Demon Body? But I heard he couldn't cultivate! How could he reach the Zifu level of physical refinement just days after his soul awakened? It’s impossible! Yet, the power he is unleashing..."
Before the burly man could process his confusion, Yuntian did not give him another chance. He lunged forward, striking out with another slow palm. The surrounding space seemed to compress toward the burly man, rendering him unable to dodge or even lift his weapon. He watched in absolute terror as the palm descended upon his head.
"He can fly? Yuntian has become a Zifu cultivator?" On the warship, the handsome man in the cyan robe watched Yuntian rise into the air. Seeing the burly man unable to resist the impending strike, his expression turned to one of frantic horror.
*Splat.* With a sound like a crushed watermelon, Yuntian’s seemingly feather-light palm shattered the burly man’s skull. Despite being a Zifu-level master of the Divine Demon Body, he was dead instantly.
"No!" the handsome man shrieked. Seeing Yuntian turn his cold, indifferent gaze toward him, he shivered, his face drained of color, and he hurriedly tried to steer the warship away.
Yuntian curled his lips into a cold sneer. His figure vanished, and in the next heartbeat, he appeared beside the terror-stricken man, his palm raised to strike.
Just as the blow was about to land, a deep voice, tinged with the weight of ages, suddenly echoed: "Halt!"
Simultaneously, a black divine sword streaked through the air like lightning, striking Yuntian’s palm and forcing him to retreat.
As Yuntian stabilized himself, the entire world seemed to shift from day to night. Brilliant stars hung in the darkness, forming a river of light, and a massive full moon appeared, bathing the earth in a gentle, ethereal glow. A man with graying hair, appearing to be in his thirties and dressed in charcoal-gray robes, walked slowly through the air.
"A Wanxiang Adept?" Yuntian’s eyes narrowed as he observed the celestial phenomenon.
"As expected of a reincarnated immortal. To block my casual strike without injury—it seems your strength has barely stepped into the Wanxiang level," the man said, his gaze deep and calm, revealing neither joy nor anger. "Killing Tie Zhan is one thing, but Yun Feng is a member of the Yun Clan. You must not kill him."
The handsome man in the cyan robe, having escaped death, bowed respectfully to the man with gray hair. "Uncle!"
The man nodded dismissively, his attention fixed on Yuntian. "I am Yun Tao. By generation, I am your father's peer. You should have called me uncle, just as Yun Feng does."
"Uncle?" Yuntian let out a mocking laugh. "Why should the son of a sinner, exiled from the Yun Clan, call you uncle?"
Yun Tao’s voice remained flat. "I know you hold a grudge against the clan. But your father betrayed the family first; the Yun Clan has not wronged you. This time, the Ancestor himself ordered me to come and invite you back. With your current strength, the Yun Clan is willing to accept you. After all, you still carry the blood of the Yun Clan."
"Is that so? I’ve killed Yun Xiao and... oh, wait, two Zifu cultivators of the Yun Clan. Is the clan no longer demanding I atone for my crimes?" Yuntian retorted with a sneer.
Yun Tao remained indifferent. "Yun Xiao was merely innate, with limited talent and no chance of reaching the Zifu realm. Were it not for his father, Yun Hai, being the current Clan Head, he would be nothing. As for the two Zifu cultivators you killed—one was Yun Hai’s spirit beast, and the other belonged to a vassal tribe. They were not true Yun Clan members; their deaths are of no consequence. Two insignificant lives in exchange for a peerless genius and a reincarnated immortal? The Yun Clan has profited. Perhaps in a few decades or centuries, you will lead our clan to even greater heights."
"How incredibly pragmatic," Yuntian chuckled. He pondered for a moment before saying, "Fine. I agree to return to the Yun Clan. However, I want Yun Hai dead. Since I killed his son, I cannot be sure he won't seek revenge. Leaving him alive is a liability. If I’m not mistaken, he was the one who sent people to kill me this time, wasn't he?"
