Volume One, Chapter 18: Going Back to Take a Look
Su Tong thought the same.
She asked Gao Qianqian, “Do you have your husband’s birth date and time?”
Gao Qianqian nodded hurriedly. “I have his birthday, I’ll send it to you right away.”
After receiving Zheng Yang’s birthday, Su Tong converted it into the Four Pillars of Destiny, calculated with her fingers, and confirmed that the one who had stolen Gao Qianqian’s fortune was indeed him.
Gao Qianqian waited a moment and, seeing Su Tong look up, asked anxiously, “Is it my husband, Zheng Yang?”
“Yes,” Su Tong replied.
After answering, Su Tong watched as the black aura of dark misfortune around Gao Qianqian gradually dispersed.
The Free Wind: [Despair’s sister, with such a scoundrel harming you, you mustn’t jump off the building! You need to watch him get his retribution.]
Idle Sister: [I’ve seen bad men, but never one so despicable and ruthless—he’s truly venomous, he deserves to be struck by lightning.]
East South West North: [As someone who shares the same gender as this scum, I feel insulted. I declare he’s no longer a man.]
North’s Little Darling: [I agree with North’s words.]
Momo: [Scumbag, go die!]
...
Many people were cursing the scoundrel in the barrage.
Gao Qianqian saw this and pulled her legs back in from the ledge, jumping down from the high-rise’s wall.
“You’re right, I shouldn’t jump. Zheng Yang ruined me, and I want to see him get what he deserves.”
Su Tong spoke at the right moment, “I can help you—but it will cost extra.”
Idle Fish Not Idle: [I just started liking the streamer, but after that sentence, I’m switching from fan to hater.]
Momo: [This sister is already so miserable, how can the streamer still ask for money?]
Gentle Breeze: [I told you the streamer’s a fraud, just finding new ways to trick people out of money.]
Yinshu 6J9H: [Shameless! May the streamer get hit by a car.]
Don’t Tell Me To Read: [Hey, you should accumulate some virtue. The streamer has her own difficulties—do you think meddling in someone’s fate is so easy? Doesn’t it require a price?]
Su Tong rested her chin in her hand, thinking Don’t Tell Me To Read must be knowledgeable.
Indeed, fortune-telling and reading faces for others brings karmic entanglements, which is why she donates half her income to dispel karma.
That’s just the simplest part.
If one needs to resolve, alter, or break the fate, the karma entangled is even greater, requiring more donations, and naturally, higher fees.
For someone like her who has been reborn, money is useless—she needs a vast amount of merit.
Gao Qianqian looked troubled. “Zheng Yang took my card and ID, and there’s no money in my phone.”
Su Tong waved her hand lightly, her voice crisp.
“You’ve been doing good deeds for years, so you carry merit. Just give me two units of merit.”
Gao Qianqian breathed a sigh of relief—good deeds do pay off; at least when there’s no money, merit can be used.
She agreed immediately, “Alright, I’m willing to give you merit.”
Momo: [What’s this? Merit? The streamer can accept merit as payment?]
Gentle Breeze: [Ha! The streamer’s frauds have reached new heights.]
Autumn: [I thought, being in debt, I couldn’t afford fortune-telling, but hearing merit as payment, I feel hopeful again.]
Don’t Tell Me To Read: [Merit’s much harder to earn than money. People with money but no merit are everywhere.]
Idle Sister: [Streamer, can we pay with merit for fortune-telling in the future?]
Su Tong sat up straight, her face blooming with a radiant smile, her voice lively.
“Of course you can.”
Money she lacked, but merit she needed even more.
She wished everyone would pay in merit, but merit is not easily earned.
And she couldn’t accept it indiscriminately.
Gao Qianqian asked the question everyone wanted answered.
“Merit—I can’t see it, how do I give it to you?”
Su Tong pointed upward, her tone mysterious. “You just need to agree. Heaven will bear witness for us.”
“I agree,” Gao Qianqian said.
“Normally, borrowing luck requires a medium.” Su Tong raised her left hand and pointed to her red bead bracelet. “Go home and see if you have anything of this color—a personal accessory or a red pouch.”
Gao Qianqian examined Su Tong’s red bracelet closely—it wasn’t ordinary red, but a dark, dried blood shade.
Suddenly she remembered: since she’d met Zheng Yang, he’d always worn a pouch of that color around his neck.
She cried out excitedly, “I’ve seen a pouch like that—Zheng Yang wore it around his neck before, and recently it’s been at home. I’ll go look for it now.”
With that, the screen shook.
Su Tong guessed she was running downstairs and spoke gently, “No rush, send me your address privately first. Tomorrow I’ll mail you two talismans.
One is a Luck Return Talisman—carry it every day, and your stolen fortune will slowly return.
The other is a Breaking Talisman—wrap it around the red pouch, then burn it under the sun.”
“Lastly, let me remind you: collect evidence of your husband’s infidelity and financial transfers, but don’t file for divorce. In a month, you’ll have a surprise.”
Su Tong had already calculated that a month later, Zheng Yang would die from the backlash of stealing Gao Qianqian’s luck.
No matter how much property he took from her now, in the end, all those assets, along with everything registered under his name, would return to Gao Qianqian.
Once Gao Qianqian had evidence of his affair, the money he spent on the other woman would also be reclaimed.
As for the child Zheng Yang had outside, the father’s misfortune would drag the child down, and soon after, the child would die unexpectedly.
Momo: [What kind of surprise? Streamer, give us a hint in advance.]
Su Tong smiled faintly. “If I tell you, it’s no longer a surprise. It’s already ten o’clock—I’m ending the stream.”
Just before logging off, Su Tong suddenly remembered something and said to Gao Qianqian, “Also, your parents have always cared deeply for you.
They haven’t contacted you because your husband threatened them.
They feared that if they reached out, your husband would beat you.
When the luck-stealing spell is broken, take some time to visit them.”
Upon hearing this, Gao Qianqian broke down in tears. “I’ve let my parents down—it’s all my fault for being stubborn and marrying Zheng Yang against their advice. I regret it.”
Su Tong shook her head, sighed, and decisively exited the live broadcast room.
After ending the stream, she first drew a Luck Return Talisman and a Breaking Talisman, then withdrew the money earned today.
Thanks to North’s blessing, after donating half, she still had over ten thousand left—several times more than yesterday.
And unexpectedly, she’d gained a merit unit.
Though it hadn’t been credited yet, Su Tong felt delighted.
She slept soundly through the night.
The next morning.
Su Tong packed the talismans with Gao Qianqian’s address and asked Steward Yuan to mail them.
She noticed signs of decline in Steward Yuan’s parents’ palace and asked, “Steward Yuan, how long has it been since you visited your parents?”
Steward Yuan didn’t know why Su Tong asked, but answered respectfully,
“It’s been over three months.”
Su Tong said, “Your father’s health is failing. Go visit him in the next couple of days.”
