When the suona blares, fortune pours in—“Double Happiness”

"The fish has bitten the hook."
Ji Fanxing scrolled through her phone, her gaze skimming over row upon row of internet celebrities. Most of them were signed to "Cutest in Jincheng" Media Studio.
These people were like leeches, relentlessly latching on to siphon off her traffic and attention.
"Jincheng—that's where Huayun Theater is located, isn't it?"
She had just posted a video supporting Peking Opera, and now she was suddenly being targeted in return.
She could already guess which faction was pulling strings behind the scenes.
"Heh, I merely wanted to speak out for Longguo’s Peking Opera, to clear up some rumors. But since you’ve chosen to come after me, don’t blame me for using my weight to crush you."
A slight thrill ran through Ji Fanxing; things only became interesting when chaos erupted.
She silently lit a candle for the "Cutest in Jincheng" studio, which was being used as a pawn. Soon enough, that "cutest" title would become "least cute" in the eyes of netizens.
After all, the dragon slayer always becomes the dragon.
With the situation analyzed and understood, she ignored the online influencers hurling curses at her, closed the recording studio door, and focused on her music.
Night had fallen.
The agents who had come to Robin Island were wrapping up their day's itinerary and preparing to depart.
"How is it that Ji Fanxing only posted a single message and then went silent? The online backlash against her is only growing fiercer. Those influencers, along with marketing accounts that can sniff out a story, have all jumped in," Xi Yuyang said, sitting beside Shen Zhiyao, feigning concern but in truth gloating.
"It's really a pity that Ji Fanxing refused to sign. Never mind her actual ability—her knack for trending is truly incredible..."
As he spoke, he genuinely felt a twinge of regret. If one of his own artists had her ability to attract attention, how much could he save on marketing expenses every year?
Maybe he should have his two C-list celebrities try to ride Ji Fanxing's coattails?
The idea made him laugh at himself, and he shook his head.
Shen Zhiyao, as always, ignored him, putting in her earplugs and closing her eyes to rest.
Xi Yuyang didn’t take offense; after all, he was certain he’d won this round. It was rare for this woman to be at a disadvantage—her mood was understandable.
Though Ji Fanxing had rejected him, he’d reached a cooperation agreement with Ji Shengxue, so the trip hadn’t been in vain.
He was quite glad Ji Fanxing had turned him down; otherwise, he’d be the one having to clean up this whole mess.
Now, he could just sit back and watch the drama unfold, and even take out his biggest rival to secure the S+ project with E-Platform.
"This is a huge win!"
Leaning back in his chair and crossing his legs, Xi Yuyang delighted in watching Ji Fanxing get swarmed by criticism.
"Hmm? What's this?"
Suddenly, a new trending topic popped up on the list.
#Traditional Horror Game 'Aman' and Ji Fanxing collaborate to release the theme song 'Double Happiness' ahead of schedule!#
"A traditional horror game?" Xi Yuyang rubbed his eyes, thinking there was just too much going on with that headline—he didn’t even know where to start with the ridicule.
He’d played plenty of horror games in his school days—Japanese thrillers, American gore—but "traditional style"? What was that supposed to mean? Did someone type "traditional" by mistake instead of "domestic"?
And the theme of a horror game was called "Double Happiness"? At the sight of that title, Xi Yuyang couldn’t help but imagine a lavish ancient wedding, all draped in red and filled with festive joy.
What’s so scary about that?
Ji Fanxing was listed as the composer—was this her counterattack?
Curious, Xi Yuyang clicked in.
@Genesis Fantasy Studio: At long last, 'Aman' is ready to meet everyone today! ...
We especially want to thank @Midsummer Stardust, Ji Fanxing, for her music for the game.
These tracks are truly incredible—not only have they given 'Aman' new life, but they’ve also deepened our understanding and vision for making horror games.
Game download link [Download]—this game is amazing! Especially the music!
And let me say this: if no one in the Chinese music scene can blend tradition and pop, then Ji the Divine is a true master!
To all who doubt Ji the Divine—listen to this song and you’ll see just how narrow-minded you are!
Theme song 'Double Happiness' [Video]
After reading the post, Xi Yuyang’s mouth twitched. It was obvious the blogger wanted to clear Ji Fanxing’s name.
But... wasn't the effort a bit too much?
From an industry perspective, trying to whitewash things so forcefully would only backfire.
Sure enough, the comments were flooded with vitriol:
[Spare me! Ji the Divine? A master? Have you no shame?]
[Damn! Thumbs down! Getting rich without me, send me 50 coins and Ji Fanxing will conquer the universe!]
[What the hell is a traditional horror game? Some 43399 browser mini-game?]
[@Zhiqinwo Yi is right, Ji Fanxing is obviously just chasing fame and profit, writing a song called 'Double Happiness' for a horror game—clearly just a desperate bid for attention. I can already imagine how bizarre and awful it’ll sound.]
[Checked out this studio’s page—definitely a niche studio. Can’t help but feel sorry for domestic games.]
[All this spin, and for what? A horror game that ignores the content and just hypes up the music. Is the studio about to shut down?]
[No, but seriously, you all need to listen! All I can say is, Ji Fanxing lives up to her name! This song is so warm and touching, it scared me—no, it moved me to tears in the middle of the night!]
Suddenly, a different sort of comment piqued Xi Yuyang’s curiosity.
Well, after all, it was a Ji Fanxing song. Even if the timing and context were off, the quality was never in question.
After a long and tiring day, listening to some music to relax sounded perfect.
With that, Xi Yuyang put on his headphones and started the video, ready to savor the experience.

From the very beginning, he sensed something was off.
The prelude was not the lively, festive tune characteristic of a traditional wedding, but instead was low, melodious, tinged with sorrow.
But remembering the comment that had called it "warm and touching," he let it go.
He kept listening.
"On the eighteenth of the first month, the auspicious day arrives,
Sorghum shoulders the bride, lifting her red dress, each inch sewn with regret,
Hastily tailored for the beloved, who never returned, a smile forced to mask the pain..."
Three lines, sung in the operatic Wu dialect, struck Xi Yuyang with a sense of novelty.
As he expected, the lyrics described a traditional wedding, but why did it feel so eerie?
Before he had time to ponder, an abrupt rap verse broke his train of thought.
The game 'Aman' was set a hundred and fifty years ago, in a southern village.
A peasant girl named Aman, famed for her beauty, was forced into marriage by a local tyrant, and, unable to endure the humiliation, took her own life.
Her lover returned to the village, only to find Aman dead. Defying his family’s objections, he insisted on holding a ghost wedding with her, but due to a series of misunderstandings, it never happened.
He even married someone else.
Aman’s resentment as a ghost grew and she became a vengeful spirit.
A hundred and fifty years later, the game’s protagonist and classmates explore the now-deserted village. Attacked and left for dead, the classmates’ fates are unknown, and the protagonist travels back in time to the village of a century and a half ago.
There, he meets the descendant of Aman’s lover, who has come to fulfill his grandfather’s wish of returning his ashes to the village.
After a series of adventures, the two finally dispel Aman’s resentment and return to the present.
The rap verse depicted the tyrant’s wedding procession in chilling detail, intensifying Xi Yuyang’s sense of unease.
"The groom hummed and pondered for a long while, only managing a tune of a lover’s lament."
Suddenly, a spoken line made him feel a wave of foreboding!
"This time, she still couldn’t find the words—
She smiled as she cried,
Guess how she managed to smile through her tears.
She wept,
See how she laughed through her sobs."
"The first bow to heaven and earth—!"
With the blare of the suona piercing the air, the soaring notes shot straight to his skull, and goosebumps erupted all over Xi Yuyang’s body.
