113. Are the Ji father and daughter making a fool of President Zhao in public?

"Holy crap! Who shot this MV? This Peking Opera look is absolutely stunning!"
"The setting in this MV looks like the 'Huayun Theater.' I had no idea it was so beautiful inside. I’m definitely going to visit once they open to the public."
"This song is amazing too! The lyrics, composition, and vocals are all top-tier. Who is this Li Yu, anyway?"
"Li Yu is the male dan performer who was being slandered a while back. Thank goodness God Ji cleared things up. Hearing this song now, I finally understand what a male dan is. It’s so enchanting, oh my god!"
"Everyone, look! The producer of this song is also Ji Fanxing! As expected of my God Ji!"
"Our traditional Peking Opera is truly beautiful. I could put this on repeat all day!"
"Wait, did you notice Ji Fanxing’s name changed? 'Huaxia Media'? What company is that? I’ve never heard of it before."
"Yeah, me neither. No wonder. I just looked it up, and it’s actually a newly established studio, and the sole owner is Ji Fanxing!"
"Could Ji Fanxing be the boss of this company? That’s so like her, but how is she going to get resources this way? In the current state of the domestic entertainment industry, going it alone is a death sentence."
"To the person above, have you forgotten whose daughter Ji Fanxing is? Ji Changming! He’s a major director; surely she won't be short on resources? Maybe this studio was set up by him for her."
"You’re right! How could I have forgotten that? As expected, nothing on the internet can be trusted. Who said Ji Changming doesn't care about his daughter? He’s really pulling out all the stops. Impressive."
...
Xi Yuyang stared at the dense wall of comments on his phone screen, cold sweat breaking out on his forehead.
Huaxia Media?
When did Ji Fanxing establish an entertainment company?
How did he not know about this?!
Xi Yuyang felt a buzzing in his head, as if ten thousand bees were swarming inside. He instinctively wanted to hand his phone to Zhao Tiankuo so he could see this shocking news.
"Boss, look..."
However, before he could finish, the car pulled to a slow stop.
"We’re here," the driver’s voice sounded at just the right moment.
Xi Yuyang’s words were stuck firmly in his throat, leaving his face flushed with frustration. Zhao Tiankuo, completely oblivious to his assistant’s agitation, enthusiastically pushed open the car door and stepped out.
"Director Ji, long time no see!"
Ji Changming had been waiting at the entrance. Seeing Zhao Tiankuo, his face lit up with a broad smile.
"President Zhao, welcome, welcome! Please, come in!"

Xi Yuyang followed behind Zhao Tiankuo, trailing step by step into the Ji family villa. He cast a surreptitious glance at Ji Changming, then at the back of Zhao Tiankuo, silently lamenting his fate.
What was he supposed to do?
His boss didn't even know that Ji Fanxing had already established her own entertainment studio!
Ji Changming was quite the bold one for a major director. If the boss found out he had spent a billion on a contract only to end up with nothing, he would surely skin him alive.
The more Xi Yuyang thought about it, the more terrified he became, wishing he could just disappear into a crack in the floor. He tried to speak up and warn Zhao Tiankuo several times, but every time the words reached his lips, he swallowed them back down.
He didn't dare say it! What if he spoke up, annoyed Zhao Tiankuo, and ended up as the target of his wrath? Xi Yuyang could only pray silently that Ji Fanxing wouldn't show up at this moment.
However, as luck would have it, his fear manifested.
"Father, I’m home," a crisp, melodic voice drifted from the doorway.
Xi Yuyang shuddered, turning his head stiffly toward the sound. He saw Ji Fanxing walking slowly down the stairs, dressed in a simple white dress, her long, raven-black hair cascading over her shoulders, a faint smile gracing her lips.
Today, her makeup was as delicate as morning dew, lightly applied, reminiscent of a gentle spring breeze. It subtly defined her features, making her delicate face look even more exquisite. Her eyes were like brilliant stars; when she blinked, her long lashes fluttered like butterfly wings, adding a touch of allure and vitality.
Her appearance immediately captured everyone’s attention.
Zhao Tiankuo’s eyes lit up, an expression of awe crossing his face. "Director Ji, is this your younger daughter, Fanxing? Truly, seeing her once is better than hearing about her a hundred times. I never expected her to be such a natural beauty!"
Ji Changming was momentarily stunned as he looked at his daughter by the door, as if seeing her true appearance for the first time. In his memory, his second daughter had always been plain; he had never realized her eyes were as beautiful as her mother’s.
Maintaining his stern authority, he nodded at her. "You’ve come at just the right time. This is President Zhao of Fenghing Entertainment. He will be your boss from now on. Why don't you greet him?"
"Boss?" Ji Fanxing smiled, looking utterly charming. "Hello, President Zhao."
"Ah, yes, yes, hello."
"President Zhao, let’s go inside and sit."
As they moved, Zhao Tiankuo was immensely satisfied with his new billion-dollar employee, nodding repeatedly as he followed Ji Changming toward the living room.

Xi Yuyang walked at the very back, watching the three people chatting and laughing ahead of him, his expression more miserable than if he were crying.
What kind of charade were this father and daughter playing?
As soon as they entered the house, Ji Shengxue walked over with a tray of tea. When she handed the last cup to Ji Fanxing, she asked with gentle concern, "Little sister, you’ve just returned. Have some tea to quench your thirst."
Ji Shengxue’s voice was gentle and attentive, but deep in her eyes flashed a trace of imperceptible mockery. This little sister was truly something else; she had quietly accomplished such a massive thing. Huaxia Media? Hmph, she wanted to see how Ji Fanxing would manage to keep her father’s support once things progressed to the point of no return.
Ji Fanxing took the cup, gave a faint "thank you," but did not drink from it.
Ji Changming watched this scene of "sisterly harmony" with great satisfaction. He cleared his throat and said to Ji Fanxing, "Fanxing, Fenghing Entertainment is a top-tier company in the industry. It is your honor to join them. You must perform well and learn as much as you can from President Zhao."
"That’s right, Fanxing. Your father is correct. If you need anything in the future, just tell me. I will support you with everything I’ve got!" Zhao Tiankuo said with a hearty laugh, completely oblivious to Xi Yuyang’s desperate glances.
Seeing that the atmosphere was just right, Ji Changming got to the point. "Fanxing, President Zhao praised the song you wrote for Lu Tianyu earlier; the response was excellent. In that case, you should write a few songs for the artists under Xi Yuyang as a welcoming gift to Fenghing Entertainment."
He said this nonchalantly, as if he were assigning a trivial task. As the absolute authority of the Ji family, Ji Changming was always like this.
Standing to the side, Xi Yuyang felt so awkward he could have curled his toes through his shoes. It was clear that even Ji Changming had no idea what his daughter had actually done.
Good grief, the whole family was playing mind games. He felt as if he were watching a magnificent family drama, and he was just an audience member sitting in the theater, so nervous he’d forgotten to eat his popcorn.
Ji Shengxue watched with deep, cold, calculating eyes.
"Father, Huaxia Media was just established and there are still many things left to handle. If you want songs, it might be a long wait."
Ji Fanxing’s tone was flat, devoid of any fear of Ji Changming.
"I apologize, President Zhao, but I cannot join your company. However, if there is a need for collaboration, you may contact my 'Huaxia Media Studio'."
At that moment, the atmosphere in the entire living room froze.
