Glancing disdainfully at the trembling World Nobles, Xuanye once again lifted the pale and panicked mermaid, preparing to leave.

"Bang..."

With a sudden, deafening report, a smoking pistol trembled in the hand of Charlos Saint.

Slightly tilting his head, Xuanye narrowed his eyes, fixing a freezing gaze on Charlos Saint.

"Trash, you'd better not test my patience."

Opening his eyes slightly, he released just a sliver of his oppressive aura, instantly freezing the air. In a fraction of a second, the three World Nobles turned ashen, collapsing in sheer terror onto the ground.

Looking with utter disgust at the trembling trio of trash, Xuanye turned away once more, ignoring them completely.

Meanwhile, in an unnamed hall somewhere, a few individuals had gathered.

"Doflamingo, we've found out," a man wearing a fringed hat and facial tattoos said with an ugly expression, addressing the leader, Doflamingo.

Doflamingo took a sip of red wine expressionlessly and raised an eyebrow, "Who is it?"

"Marine Headquarters Vice Admiral, Sky Bird Xuanye Tang!"

"What?" Doflamingo abruptly stood up, spilling red wine all over the floor as his expression shifted drastically.

"There is no doubt about it, and what's more, our operations might have been exposed."

"It seems we have a problem," Doflamingo murmured in deep thought, a trace of apprehension in his eyes.

"Send a reply to Sengoku immediately. Tell him we are willing to accept the position of Warlord of the Sea, and you all go out right away to prepare some gifts—pirate heads worth hundreds of millions would be best."

Making a decisive judgment with a hint of urgency in his tone, Doflamingo issued his orders.

"Yes, Young Master!"

In an instant, a heavy silence fell over the entire room.

Back at the Sabaody Archipelago, absolute chaos reigned.

From all directions, countless Marines suddenly swarmed into sectors 1 through 29, fully armed.

At their lead was Onigumo, his face as dark as the bottom of a pot.

The moment he arrived in the sector, Onigumo's sharp eyes spotted Xuanye. He marched right up to him and cursed angrily, "Damn it, do you even know what you're doing?"

"Why are you so worked up?" Xuanye asked, looking speechlessly at Onigumo while holding the nervous mermaid.

"Why am I worked up? What do you mean why am I worked up, you bastard! It hasn't even been a moment and you're already causing trouble. Can't you stay put for once? You're planning to kill a World Noble just for this mermaid? Do you even know what World Nobles are?"

"Well, did you kill them or not? If you killed them, run right now! Fleet Admiral Sengoku already knows and has sent Kizaru and Aokiji."

After chewing him out, Onigumo looked at Xuanye with a gloomy expression. Instead of stopping him, he was actually urging Xuanye to flee.

A flicker of emotion stirred in Xuanye's heart. He looked at Onigumo with a strange expression and smiled, "I didn't expect you to be so loyal. If others find out you deliberately let me go, you'll be in deep trouble."

"Who's being loyal to you? I just don't want an idiot like you dying here. Tsuru is already enough... I couldn't help her back then, but now, I can only help you. Get out of here immediately."

With a grave expression, Onigumo urged him on.

"Thank you." Xuanye offered a sincere expression of gratitude to Onigumo before lowering his voice. "Rest assured! I didn't kill that bunch of trash, I only took out some of their attendants."

Looking around, he remembered that it was right here, in this very place, that Tsuru had once died in his arms. Thinking about it now, it felt as though it had just happened before his eyes, plunging Xuanye into a vortex of remorse and turbulent emotions.

"That's good, that's good. As long as you didn't kill those fellows, things are manageable." Onigumo let out a sigh of relief, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead.

However, an unexpected tragedy struck.

"Puff..." The sound of blood spraying and a sharp weapon piercing flesh echoed out. The mermaid in Xuanye's grip let out a muffled groan as a bloody, mangled wound opened on her chest, blood now pulsing from it in a steady stream.

Snapped out of his reverie, Xuanye's expression changed instantly. He dropped to his knees, gently laying the mermaid onto the ground, and pressed his hands against her heaving chest, panicking, "Don't die! You mustn't die!"

Frantic to the extreme, Xuanye turned his head and roared at Onigumo, "Call a doctor, quickly! She can't die, she knows the whereabouts of Xiaoxi!"

Onigumo was stunned for a moment before his own face drained of color. He yelled at the Marines around him, "Get a doctor, now!"

"Hey! Tell me, where did you get this bracelet?" Feeling the mermaid growing weaker and weaker, Xuanye clutched her chest tightly, sheer anxiety gripping him.

"Gurgle... gurgle..." Her beautiful, large eyes were filled with a mist of tears, and crimson bubbles continually spilled past her seductive lips.

"Hey! Don't die, you haven't answered my question yet!" Patting the mermaid's delicate face, Xuanye felt his heart sink to the abyss.

"I... I want to go home..." Her gorgeous eyes gradually lost their luster, lingering within them only a profound reluctance and attachment to the world.

"Hey! Tell me, where did you get your bracelet?!"

"Hey! Don't die!"

"Tell me!"

"Tell me..." Roaring in agony, Xuanye shook the mermaid's delicate body with all his might, but all he received in return was a body growing steadily colder.

He had finally, *finally* obtained a clue about Xiaoxi, but now it was gone—everything was gone.

It was right here again, dying right here. The memory played like a nightmare before his eyes, juxtaposing the image of the bloodied, battered girl who had once collapsed in his arms with the scene before him, echoing with terrifying similarity.

"Ah... Ah..." A string in his heart snapped.

With a heart-rending roar, his expression gradually twisted into something ferocious, and a wave of fierce, murderous intent swept across the entire area.

"Oh no!" Onigumo's heart plummeted. He knew very well why Xuanye was acting with such madness—it was all for the sake of finding his younger sister.

It was obvious that this mermaid knew the whereabouts of Xuanye's sister, and now she was dead. Furthermore, the scene mirrored the tragedy of a few years ago so closely that, based on his understanding of Xuanye, the man was about to snap completely.

"Hmph, whatever I cannot have, no one else will either, least of all a lowly, inferior race like you." Calmly putting away the short pistol in his hand, Charlos Saint looked immensely arrogant.

Standing up, Xuanye clenched his fists so tightly that the veins on his forehead bulged and rapidly spread. His entire fierce visage distorted into a mask of pure wrath.

He raised his head, staring at the three World Nobles as if they were already corpses, and pulled out a delicate Den Den Mushi.

"Belo... Belo..."

"Hello? What is it? I heard you're going to Fish-Man Island for a mission?" Zephyr's pampering voice came from the other end of the line.

"Master, take care of yourself from now on, and I'll leave little Jin and the others to you." Glaring icily at the three World Nobles, and ignoring Onigumo's ashen face, Xuanye had made his decision.

He had simply had enough. He was sick of the Marines, sick of these fools, and above all, sick of this world.

"What happened?" On the other end of the line, Zephyr stood up, his expression shifting as well.

"Master, no matter what happens from now on, I will always be your disciple. Take care of yourself." With those words, Xuanye hung up the phone directly.

"Hey! Hey! Xuanye..." Zephyr's voice on the other end was fraught with anxiety.

"Xuanye... you... what are you planning to do?!" With a trembling voice, Onigumo shook his head, staring nervously at Xuanye's frosty visage.

"Thank you. From now on, we might be enemies." Sighing softly, Xuanye gave Onigumo's shoulder a heavy pat, and then his figure vanished.

"Ah..."

A miserable scream suddenly pierced the clouds. The three World Nobles were seen collapsing to the ground, each of their chests pierced by a flaming spear, pinning them securely and immovably to the earth.

Time seemed to freeze. Whether it was the Marines or the outlaws who had rushed to the scene, everyone stood rigid, staring in absolute, disbelieving horror at the bloody spectacle unfolding before them.

"Ah... ah..." Pig-like shrieks echoed as blood-stained limbs flew through the air. Xuanye's eyes were chillingly cold, the flaming blade in his hand continuously dripping with blood.

"A bunch of trash, daring to crush my hope—then all of you can just die." Bringing his right foot down heavily onto Charlos Saint's chest, Xuanye swung his blade, and a distorted head heavy with gore dropped to the ground with a dull thud.

"Puff... puff..." Without the slightest hesitation, Xuanye swung his weapon again, first severing the limbs of Roswald Saint and Shalria Palace, leaving the two of them to writhe ugly on the ground, because Xuanye wanted them to experience death slowly, inch by inch.

The entire space hung frozen. Countless people held their breath, their eyes wide and bulging, still unable to believe the gory scene before them. Most crucially of all, the perpetrators were none of others than the lofty, untouchable World Nobles.
