“Come on.”
Gatomon glanced at Zhao Jie beside her, the Holy Ring on her tail beginning to radiate light, connecting with the digital energy within her body.
As for why, despite both being at the Champion level, she was no match for that formidable Bullmon, she had chosen to forget this question.
Right now, the most important thing was to defeat the enemy before her and escape successfully!
Zhao Jie also looked at Gatomon in front of him. He already understood the intentions of his newly joined digital partner.
In that case, let’s—
“Gatomon, Digivolve!”
His shout rang out, dramatic and fervent. Simultaneously, the evolution sigil representing Gatomon in the sea of consciousness between his brows flew out and landed on her body.
In an instant, the light of evolution burst forth from Gatomon.
Lyrics from the Digimon Adventure 02 evolution anthem, “Break Up” (final part):
lalala, lalala…
lalala, lalala…
lalala.
Hear the cry in your heart
Don’t want to lose
You must bravely face it
It’s not anyone else’s turn, it’s yours
You can’t evade
You can’t retreat, stake tomorrow, fight on
Look at your palm
If you clench it tightly
Strength will flow from your heart
Defeat him, go defeat him
A new warrior, the real beginning
Surpass yourself
Let it start right here!
……
Bathed in the light of evolution, Gatomon’s body grew slender, transforming from a cat into a true angel.
“Still not enough!”
Through their shared mind, Zhao Jie sensed that Gatomon’s digital energy was insufficient to push her to successful digivolution!
“Digital Fusion!”
The digital energy within his brow merged with Gatomon's light of evolution. With this new surge of energy, her graceful form finally solidified.
As the light faded, a tall and elegant female angel appeared before Zhao Jie.
On her arms, she carried a sacred bow; eight snowy white wings unfurled from her back, a pink ribbon formed from the Holy Ring wound around her body, and atop her head was a helmet forged from digital alloy.
The snow-white skin of her right leg gleamed like jade, stretching upward…
Ahem!
Unfortunately, the room was too dark, and Zhao Jie couldn’t observe all the details (in truth, they couldn’t be described).
This was Gatomon's Ultimate Digivolution—Angewomon.
A high-ranking holy angel with four pairs of pure white wings.
“Bullmon, come here. Let big sister teach you a lesson!”
Now fully evolved into Angewomon, her gaze locked on the previously arrogant Bullmon.
She gripped the Holy Bow in her right hand, and an arrow formed from sacred energy appeared on the string.
In the next instant, a golden bolt of lightning shot forth from Angewomon.
This was her finishing move: Celestial Arrow.
Also known as Divine Judgment.
The arrow, swift as lightning, was impossible for Bullmon to dodge. Its body was too unwieldy; by the time it reacted, the Celestial Arrow had already expanded within its pupils.
With a sharp sound, the sacred arrow pierced its defenses. In its stunned gaze, flames of divinity ignited from the arrow.
“Ah…”
With a terrible scream, Bullmon’s body dissolved into digital particles, vanishing utterly.
“Wah wah…”
Seeing this, the Ghostmons who had been circling nearby scattered in panic.
Terrifying! Far too terrifying!
Even Bullmon was dead—if we weaklings go up, we’re simply offering ourselves up!
Run, we must run.
“Little ones, let big sister redeem you!”
Angewomon lowered her Holy Bow, a smile blooming at the corner of her lips, her wings beating behind her, her entire body aglow with a soft golden radiance.
“Heaven’s Charm.”
Like a goddess standing in judgment, her chant sent waves of golden light sweeping forward.
With a sharp hiss, the Ghostmons, whose attributes were already countered by Angewomon’s holy nature, and who faced a fully evolved Digimon, were blasted to ashes by Heaven’s Charm. In an instant, the entire abandoned warehouse was emptied out.

“Simple enough.”
After casting Heaven’s Charm and seeing all the Ghostmons perish, Angewomon nodded in satisfaction, turning to look at the calm Zhao Jie standing to the side.
Her feelings were somewhat complicated, but her expression betrayed nothing.
She extended her hand to Zhao Jie.
“Let’s go!”
The crisis wasn’t over—these were only the vanguard. They needed to leave quickly.
“Alright.”
Zhao Jie nodded, limping toward their earlier path.
“Let me handle this.”
Angewomon gently scooped Zhao Jie into her arms. A soft swell pressed against his back, but before he could entertain any untoward thoughts—
Swoosh!
Her wings beat, lifting them from the ground, and Zhao Jie felt the rush of wind against his face.
“Ah, ah! Slow, slow—”
He opened his mouth only for a gust of wind to fill it.
After a few attempts, Zhao Jie gave up, shut his eyes tightly, and tensed his body, afraid he might fall.
Angewomon’s speed was astonishing—even in the confined space, she didn’t slow at all. In just a few minutes, they reached the warehouse exit.
As Angewomon carried Zhao Jie to the threshold, a massive, jet-black monster bird launched from the darkness like lightning.
Its concealment was flawless; until it attacked, Angewomon hadn’t detected its presence.
“Caw!”
A shrill screech echoed around them. Angewomon’s body froze at the sound, then—bang!—she was struck and sent flying by the gigantic monster bird.
Had she been alone, Angewomon could have easily resisted the blow, but now she was carrying a human.
In the instant the bird struck, she folded her wings to shield Zhao Jie.
The result: both were knocked aside together.
Bang! Bang!
Several rotting wooden and iron crates were smashed by Angewomon, and finally, before hitting the stone wall, she managed to halt herself.
“Are you alright?”
Setting Zhao Jie down, Angewomon stared at the huge, jet-black Crowmon not far away—the very same Crowmon that had captured her years ago.
Enemies meeting again, the animosity was palpable.
