Chapter 134: Members of the Truth Organization
“Want to know? Go ask the King of Hell!”
The pale-faced man watched the furious Wengong with amused interest and gave a casual wave. Above them, the Man-Faced War Eagles had already completed their ultimate attack: Wind Spirit Bombs.
Whoosh, whoosh!
A dense barrage of Wind Spirit Bombs descended like a sudden torrential rain, enveloping Zhao Jie and the others.
At this point, escape was impossible. Their only chance of survival was to destroy the Digimon before them!
“Anganggang…”
“Snakewomanmon, super-evolve—Medusamon!”
As the light of evolution faded, a three-meter-tall Medusa appeared before them, with six arms and the body of a serpent beneath a woman’s head.
“Garurumon, super-evolve—WereGarurumon!”
“My partner, I need your help. Mammothmon, super-evolve—Mammothmon!”
“Salamon, super-evolve—Angewomon!”
In an instant, four Ultimate-level Digimon appeared, and together they blocked the attacks raining down like a storm.
“O Key that conceals sacred power! Reveal your true form before me! I, Angewomon, who made a pact with—”
“Stop reciting those embarrassing lines of yours. People will think I’m padding the word count. Attack, now!”
Hearing Angewomon begin reciting the lines she had prepared for herself yet again, Zhao Jie’s expression darkened. Couldn’t she see what kind of situation they were in? And she was still going on about her speech?
Angewomon’s voice faltered.
Even her signature lines were forbidden now. This was too much.
A Sacred Bow appeared upon her arm.
Whoosh!
The Sacred Arrow flew as swiftly as lightning. In the blink of an eye, it appeared before one of the Man-Faced War Eagles and pierced it with a wet thud, sending it plummeting like a fallen meteor.
“See? That is what happens when you oppose Angewomon.”
The helmeted head glanced at Zhao Jie and muttered under his breath, in a voice only he could hear.
“Frozen Tundra Breath!”
Mammothmon raised its head. The digital energy within its body transformed into a bone-chilling current that burst from its mouth, freezing a thick layer of frost wherever it passed.
At the same time, Fu Yue’s Medusamon unleashed its ultimate technique: Petrifying Eyes.
The Man-Faced War Eagles that had intended to dodge were turned to stone in midair. By the time they regained the ability to move, the icy current of Frozen Tundra Breath had already reached them.
Crack!
Crack!
Several Man-Faced War Eagles fell from the sky. WereGarurumon, who had been waiting for this moment, leaped into the air.
As it rose, WereGarurumon unleashed its ultimate technique: Kaiser Nail.
After activating Kaiser Nail, the claws on both of WereGarurumon’s arms became extraordinarily sharp, mercilessly reaping the lives of the frozen Man-Faced War Eagles.
“Beautiful!”
Zhao Jie cried out in astonishment. The coordination among the three Digimon had already reached a flawless level—from Mammothmon’s Frozen Tundra Breath, to Medusamon’s Petrifying Eyes, and finally WereGarurumon’s deadly assault.
Their movements flowed together so seamlessly that even watching the scene was a pleasure.
“Not bad.”
The pale-faced man, seated atop Andromon, watched the scene with a slight change in expression. Yet in the very next instant, his face once again returned to its usual calm.
The perfect coordination between Mammothmon and the others had far exceeded his expectations.
“Why are these Man-Faced War Eagles so weak?”
Watching Angewomon and the others cut through the Man-Faced War Eagles as easily as slicing melons, Zhao Jie looked puzzled.
“Heh. Do you think every Digimon can compare with the partners of us humans? These Digimon, which have grown in the wild, are far inferior to ours in terms of combat strength!”
While directing Mammothmon to attack, Wengong answered Zhao Jie.
The instant he finished speaking, Andromon, which had not previously joined the battle, entered the fray. Its target was WereGarurumon, which was still cutting down the Man-Faced War Eagles.
A metallic scrape rang out.
A long sword formed from pure energy appeared in Andromon’s hand. The air around the blade continuously vanished into nothingness.
“Spiral Sword!”
Sharp sword energy tore through the air. Wherever the blade passed, a brief vacuum appeared.
Boom!
WereGarurumon’s heart shuddered. Knowing that it could not block the attack head-on, it twisted its body and dodged to the side.
But the next moment, Andromon kicked it away, sending it flying more than a thousand meters before it smashed through a small mountain and crashed heavily to the ground.
“Then how do you explain that?”
Seeing WereGarurumon kicked away, Zhao Jie’s voice once again rang beside Wengong’s ear.
“Stop arguing with me. Hurry and evolve Greymon. Once we deal with these creatures, we need to leave immediately. Be careful— that fellow may have reinforcements!”
Hearing this, Wengong spoke irritably.
“Understood!”
Zhao Jie naturally knew the urgency of the situation and said nothing more. Evolution runes belonging to Agumon flew out and landed upon Greymon’s body.
The light of evolution emerged.
“Greymon, super-evolve—MetalGreymon!”
“Roar!”
A Giga Destroyer blasted from the hatch in MetalGreymon’s body, its target being Andromon, which was preparing to attack Medusamon.
Boom!
An explosion like muffled thunder rang out. MetalGreymon shot forward, and a vast shadow appeared above Andromon, blocking it from going to the aid of its ally.
“You’re a member of the Di Organization, aren’t you?”
No longer paying attention to the battlefield, Zhao Jie turned toward the pale-faced man standing calmly where he was.
The pale-faced man’s heart jolted when he heard Zhao Jie’s words. He looked at Zhao Jie in surprise, genuinely astonished that one of these people knew about the Di Organization.
“What are you talking about? I don’t understand.”
He shook his head, however, and showed no intention of admitting anything.
“I know Zhou Jie. Do you know him?”
Zhao Jie continued speaking.
Zhou Jie was also a member of the Di Organization. Zhao Jie wanted to use his name to test the man’s reaction.
To his disappointment, the pale-faced man merely revealed a trace of confusion.
Clearly, he did not know Zhou Jie.
“Zhou Jie is also a member of the Di Organization, and a very important one at that. You don’t even know him? Don’t tell me you’re nothing more than cannon fodder sent out by the Di Organization.”
Zhao Jie looked at the man in the distance with mocking contempt.
“Shut up! The majesty of Di must not be defiled!”
At Zhao Jie’s words, the man, who had remained calm until then, suddenly became agitated. His eyes fixed upon Zhao Jie with vicious hatred.
“Heh. So you really are one of the Di Organization’s people!”
Zhao Jie paid no attention to the man’s glare. He merely chuckled and spoke in an indifferent tone.
