In April, Zhao Jie left Wuling City with Agumon, and it wasn’t until mid-May that he finally returned to his hometown.

Carrying a substantial sum of money, Zhao Jie indulged himself by flying directly from Yundian back to Wuling City.

He departed in the morning and successfully landed at Lotus Airport in Wuling City by the afternoon.

“Finally back!”

There weren’t many Digimon Tamers in Wuling City, unlike the capital of Yundian Province, where many Tamers strolled around with their Digimon. When Zhao Jie descended with Agumon and Terriermon, they immediately drew quite a few glances and sideways looks.

“Home! Home!”

Agumon clutched tightly to the phone hanging around his neck, calling out loudly with an excited, adorable little face.

Terriermon, on the other hand, looked around curiously but appeared somewhat reserved.

“Son, son, over here…”

“Agumon, come to mommy quickly.”

As Zhao Jie stepped out of the airport, he saw his parents waving their hands rapidly.

“Dad, Mom!”

Agumon’s eyes lit up when he spotted them. He broke away from Zhao Jie’s side and quickly ran toward them.

“Oh, my good boy.”

Zhao Jie quickened his pace. As soon as he reached them, he heard his mother’s words and felt a smile begin to bloom on his face.

“My Agumon, let mommy have a look. You seem a bit thinner. Have you not been eating well out there? Don’t worry, today I made your favorite—Kung Pao chicken.”

Zhao Jie: ??????

A series of questions rose in Zhao Jie’s mind. Am I still your son? They’re not concerned about me but about Agumon instead.

It stung, deeply.

“Oh? What’s this…”

After affectionately hugging Agumon for a while, Zhao Jie’s mother finally looked at her son—and noticed the Terriermon on him.

“Xiao Jie, who is this…”

There was a sparkle in Zhao Jie’s mother’s eyes that made Terriermon’s beast heart flutter.

“This is also my Digimon, called Terriermon.”

Zhao Jie looked helplessly at his mother. Did he have such little presence?

“Hello!”

Terriermon was a bit uneasy and gave a faint greeting before picking up the wolf-themed smartphone Zhao Jie had bought for her, absentmindedly playing with it.

Yet her attention remained on Zhao Jie’s parents.

“Well, alright. Old Zhao, since we’ve picked up the kids, let’s head home. They must be hungry.”

Zhao Jie’s mother rubbed her hands together. As an old hand, she immediately saw that Terriermon was a little shy and said no more. She hugged Agumon and glanced at Zhao Jie’s father, who just smiled foolishly.

“Yes, yes. Xiao Jie, let’s go,” Old Zhao chuckled as he took the lead toward the exit.

But his sharp, experienced eyes noticed some small, healing scars on Zhao Jie’s body.

He said nothing, keeping it to himself.

It seemed that this so-called training hadn’t been entirely smooth sailing.

“Let’s go, let’s go.”

The family walked toward the parking lot, attracting envious stares that followed them until they drove away and the gazes finally withdrew.

Who wouldn’t want to become a Digimon Tamer?

“Oh, son, I have good news for you. Your father got promoted; he’s now the office director, and every day is much easier than before.”

Inside the car, Zhao’s mother kept chatting about the changes during Zhao Jie’s absence.

“Deputy director, deputy! Don’t say director or office director—if others hear, it wouldn’t be good.”

“What’s wrong with deputy director? Isn’t that still office director?”

“……”

Days passed amid the couple’s bickering. To them, this was a form of happiness.

Zhao Jie enjoyed this domestic commotion. Someone must have pulled strings behind the scenes; otherwise, how would his father have landed such a perfect position?

But for the whole family, it was undoubtedly a blessing.

Zhao Jie’s mother hadn’t lied. When they returned home, he saw a large pot of Kung Pao chicken waiting.

“You called last night saying you were coming back. Your mother was so excited she hardly slept, contacted relatives, bought over a dozen native chickens, and went out at five in the morning to get them.”

Zhao Jie heard his father’s voice softly behind him. His father patted him on the shoulder, and under his mother’s call, they all busily began serving the dishes with smiles.

Parents!

Watching them bring dish after dish, Zhao Jie’s eyes welled up slightly.

“I’ll help you guys!”

“Go away! Don’t make a mess here.”

In no time, Zhao Jie swallowed his emotions as his mother shooed him out of the kitchen.

“Delicious, delicious! I want another bowl!”

Agumon’s lips were bright red from the spicy food. People from Xiangnan Province had a natural affinity for spicy dishes. Even Agumon grew up eating spicy food, but now his lips were a bit swollen.

“All right, come here. Mom will serve you!”

Zhao’s mother smiled warmly at Agumon. After only a few bites herself, she took the extra-large bowl specially made for Agumon and served him another generous helping.

“Mom, serve me some too.”

“You don’t have hands?”

Zhao Jie: …………

This life is unbearable! Such bullying.

“Terriermon, is my cooking not to your taste? Why are you eating so little?”

After taking care of Agumon, Zhao’s mother looked tenderly at Terriermon. Since these were both her son’s Digimon, she couldn’t favor one over the other.

Um…

Under her gaze, Terriermon hesitated but finished the food completely, then the bowl disappeared from her hand.

The next moment, a bowl of white rice was placed beside her again.

Two minutes later, after serving another bowl to Agumon, Zhao’s mother looked at Terriermon with the same tender gaze.

“Terriermon, is my cooking not to your taste? Why are you eating so little?”

Terriermon: …………

What should I do?

Maybe I should eat another bowl?

Unable to refuse politely, the modest Terriermon cleaned her bowl again.

Then, she noticed.

Yet another bowl of white rice was placed in front of her.

It was a terrifying cycle.

Only when Agumon patted his belly contentedly did Terriermon finally put down her bowl.

I swear, I will never forget this day!

Terriermon silently vowed.

It was all because Zhao’s mother was too enthusiastic, making it impossible for her to decline. She had no choice but to join in eating.

Then she heard a remark that dealt her an even heavier blow.

“Terriermon, so you’re a foodie too!”

Agumon said with a beaming smile, his face full of admiration.

I, Agumon, hereby dub you the second foodie!
