[Explanation of the Background]

My classmate Kong told me that after reading the setting about the decline of the Age of Magic, he felt quite dissatisfied. I don’t know if others share the same sentiment, but I think it’s necessary to offer a brief explanation here.

A splendid civilization, no matter how many ages pass or how much time elapses, always leaves traces of its former glory in the river of history. For a civilization as magnificent as magic, this should be even more true. Though more than eight hundred years have gone by, such brilliance ought not to fade to this degree. Yet, in the background I have devised, things are not so simple. A civilization’s decline over time is natural; even if it is utterly destroyed, its splendor remains etched in history. But what if this civilization did not fade naturally with the passage of ages, but was deliberately erased?
