Ver sat on the ground, baring his teeth as he peeled off his tunic. He glanced over at his injured shoulder; that girl, Pepero, had a vicious bite. His entire shoulder was a mangled mess of flesh, and those two distinct rows of teeth marks embedded in the bloody wound were an eyesore.

Is this woman part dog?!

Ver looked at the girl before him, speechless, his expression caught somewhere between laughter and tears. Even now, Pepero kept her teeth clenched, still struggling violently to break free from her restraints. However, she seemed to have forgotten one thing: due to their previous skirmish, her clothes were already in tatters. With the large gaps across her chest, every time she thrashed about, Ver could catch glimpses of those two pink points, enough to make one dizzy.

Honestly, Pepero was quite well-endowed, but Ver was in no mood to take advantage of the view. He channeled the light-elemental magic within his sea of consciousness, and a golden sphere of light materialized in his palm. He carefully applied the orb to his wound to begin healing. Threads of warm, radiant energy nourished the laceration, quickly staunching the blood.

Bound and helpless, Pepero’s face was ghastly. Her livid, ferocious expression somehow lent her a strange, wild beauty. Her large eyes were bloodshot, glaring at Ver like a venomous snake. Seeing her intense resentment, Ver dared to bet that if he moved any closer, she would bite him again without a moment’s hesitation.

Exhaling deeply, Ver looked at Pepero. After a moment of contemplation, he shook his head, stood up, and walked toward her.

"What—what are you doing?!"

Seeing Ver approach step by step, a flicker of panic rose in Pepero’s heart. Her eyes widened as she twisted her alluring body, shouting at him, "You bastard! What are you doing? I’m warning you, if you dare touch me, I will never forgive you!"

"Oh? Is that so?"

Ver naturally dismissed her threats. He offered a faint, gentle smile, but to Pepero, that easygoing expression looked as wicked as a demon’s.

Ver walked up to her and traced her cheek with his finger. He moved downward, trailing along her slender neck, across her ample chest, and finally circling her flat stomach before tracing his path back up. He cupped her chin with his palm, bringing his face close to hers until their noses were inches apart.

Ver’s actions made Pepero tremble with rage. She bit her lip so hard that a trickle of blood escaped the corner of her mouth. She glared at him, and Ver returned the gaze, though his eyes were filled with amusement and mockery, while hers burned with fiery fury.

If Ver’s excessive behavior had already pushed Pepero to the brink, his next words were the spark that ignited her wrath completely.

Ver said, "Little girl, look, I’ve touched you, but what can you do about it? Bite me?"

In an instant, an indescribable sense of resentment and murderous intent erupted from Pepero. Like a crazed leopard cub, her eyes turned red, and she roared at him in a near-frenzy.

"Ver! You son of a bitch! You bastard! Go to hell!"

Stunned by her explosive outburst, Ver stood frozen. He had never imagined a woman could be so... fierce when enraged.

Yes, fierce!

With such exaggerated intensity and shrill screaming, he suspected that if she hadn’t been restrained, she would have pounced on him without a second thought.

As Ver pondered this, a sudden, blood-chilling killing intent surged from his left!

It was genuine murderous intent—not the mere anger Pepero felt, but something forged from the cold reality of corpses and bloodshed. At that same moment, Ver caught a faint glimmer of light out of the corner of his eye. Based on his experience, that light was the energy barrier of a Soul Master.

Danger!

The thought flashed through his mind instinctively, and he lunged toward Pepero with all his speed. His intention was purely to save her, but Pepero, unaware of the lurking threat, saw him throwing his weight onto her and, with her stubborn nature, refused to yield. She let out a low growl and sank her teeth into his forearm!

"Ugh!"

Ver grunted in pain but allowed her to keep biting his arm. He used his free hand to wrap around her, turned his body mid-air, and conjured an ice shield behind him.

Ver didn’t know if the shield could withstand the attack, but as a mage with inferior physical reflexes and agility, this was the fastest he could react.

They hit the ground hard. The sudden impact made Pepero wince, and she glared at Ver, clearly preparing to scream again. By pure instinct, Ver reached out to cover her mouth, but Pepero, as if anticipating his move, tilted her head, slipping her mouth free just enough to sink her teeth into his palm!

This was the third time!

Watching Pepero bite his hand with a look of malicious satisfaction, a spark of genuine irritation flared in Ver’s eyes. At that very moment, a deafening explosion erupted behind them, followed by a brilliant flash of light. With a sharp crack, Ver’s ice shield was shattered into dust.
