22. Transforming Divine Sense

Afterward, Chen Fengyun returned to the antique market, only to notice that the shop owners were covertly keeping an eye on him. He assumed they feared he might steal something, so he paid no mind and continued searching for what he needed.
Time gradually slipped into June, just before the college entrance exams. After more than a month of treasure hunting, Chen Fengyun had made new gains. He consumed eight attribute points, successfully elevating his cultivation to the seventh layer of Qi Refining. At this stage, he could no longer progress further without first advancing his cultivation technique.
Two days before the college entrance examination, after increasing his cultivation, Chen Fengyun accumulated another ten attribute points. To his astonishment, he discovered his spiritual power could be improved once again.
"I've already reached the tenth stage of the mortal level in spiritual power. If I enhance it further, will I attain the spiritual power of the Foundation Establishment stage?" Chen Fengyun was uncertain if the grade after elevating his spiritual power would correspond to his cultivation, but he decided to proceed with the enhancement.
A humming sound echoed in his mind as the ten attribute points vanished. Chen Fengyun felt as if a storm surged within his brain, rattling him with waves of dizziness. Especially between his brows, something seemed to be colliding inside, swelling into a protrusion that pulsed like a heart, eventually emitting a silver beam of light.
As the silver light burst from his brow, his mind suddenly felt liberated. He realized his perception instantly expanded to cover ten square kilometers, nearly doubling his previous range.
Not only that, previously Chen Fengyun could only sense the life force of humans and large animals, as well as fluctuations in spiritual energy within a limited area; everything else remained vague. Now, within a ten-square-kilometer radius, he could observe everything clearly as if surveying from above, sensing every living being, including birds and even insects and ants ten meters underground.
Furthermore, he could now detect things he previously couldn't, such as subterranean phenomena. Even the rats and cockroaches in the city's sewers were within his sensory grasp.
As for the spiritual energy permeating the world, before, it needed to reach a certain concentration for him to perceive it; now, he could sense even the faintest trace.
Remarkably, when Chen Fengyun focused his spiritual power, he could see through people's clothing, perceiving their bodies, blood, flesh, and bones.
"To think that after a qualitative transformation, spiritual power grants the ability of clairvoyance. It seems choosing to enhance spiritual power was the right move. Treasure hunting will be much smoother in the future."
However, such perception consumed tremendous spiritual power, and even at his current level, Chen Fengyun could only sustain it for a few minutes.
He then discovered that between his brows, a space had opened up, filled with silvery spiritual power, seemingly acting as a fountain that continuously strengthened his spiritual energy.
Moreover, with this storage space for spiritual power between his brows, his flying sword appeared within it, swimming like a small fish amidst the spiritual energy, constantly being refined.
Chen Fengyun felt his connection with the flying sword had grown much tighter, clearly a result of his stronger spiritual power, making it easier to command the sword.
Spirit Root: Peak of the Yellow Grade
Spiritual Power: Early Yellow Grade
Cultivation: Seventh Layer of Qi Refining
Cultivation Techniques: Heaven and Earth Starburning Art (Seventh Stage of Mortal Grade), Golden Bell Shield (Seventh Stage of Mortal Grade)

Magic Tools: Flying Sword (Fifth Stage of Mortal Grade), Spirit Gathering Array Flag (Seventh Stage of Mortal Grade), Mysterious Yin Mirror (Seventh Stage of Mortal Grade)
Attribute Points: None
Upon reviewing the cultivation system panel, Chen Fengyun saw that his spiritual power had reached the early Yellow Grade, corresponding to the early Foundation Establishment stage. He hadn't expected his spiritual power to outstrip his cultivation by such a margin.
Additionally, from the system's hints, he learned that once spiritual power surpassed the mortal grade, it transformed into Divine Sense. No wonder his perception had become so powerful and extraordinary.
With the metamorphosis from ordinary spiritual power to Divine Sense, not only had the quantity increased, but a qualitative change occurred. Divine Sense not only served as perception but, when wielded skillfully, could exert pressure and even spawn spiritual attack techniques.
Generally, following the usual progression, spiritual power only transforms into Divine Sense when one's cultivation breaks through to the Foundation Establishment stage, thereby gaining such astonishing power.
In fact, Foundation Establishment cultivators are stronger than Qi Refining cultivators not merely because their cultivation is higher and their internal spiritual energy greater, but chiefly because they possess Divine Sense.
During Qi Refining, spiritual power paired with spiritual energy can simply operate magical tools, but with limited effectiveness. For example, sword flight is impossible.
Upon reaching Foundation Establishment, with Divine Sense, not only does the power of magical tools increase, but sword flight and transmitting messages via flying swords become effortless.
Chen Fengyun was an exception. Though only at the seventh layer of Qi Refining, he had already transformed his spiritual power into Divine Sense, thus possessing some abilities of Foundation Establishment cultivators.
He could already attempt sword flight; though limited by his cultivation and unable to fly far, he now had a skill to take pride in as a cultivator.
Moreover, he could exert Divine Sense pressure. When facing cultivators of equal or slightly higher cultivation, he could easily defeat them under the pressure of his Divine Sense. Sometimes, he could even impersonate a Foundation Establishment cultivator with his Divine Sense.
Yet, due to cultivation constraints, after his spiritual power reached the early Yellow Grade, further enhancement required first advancing his cultivation. Thus, his spiritual power had currently reached its peak.
"Next, I need to focus on seeking out better cultivation techniques, or my progress will be hindered. But the college entrance exam is imminent; after that, I’ll have ample time for treasure hunting. Then I can improve other aspects and find ways to upgrade my cultivation techniques."
Chen Fengyun briefly outlined his cultivation plan and then devoted himself wholeheartedly to the college entrance exams. This time, he did not hide his academic prowess; he completed all the questions he could, expecting to place in the top three in the province, if not first.
Of course, Chen Fengyun had tested himself—if he wished, he could use Divine Sense to analyze all the answers from every candidate in the examination hall, easily scoring over 700 points and clinching first place in the province.
However, as a cultivator, Chen Fengyun disdained such methods. He simply did his best on every question within his ability, never using Divine Sense to cheat, and didn’t care about the results. Entry into the Capital University was well within reach.
Therefore, cheating was unnecessary. Extra marks would merely astonish others but served no purpose; such behavior was meaningless, so Chen Fengyun refrained from it.
