Chapter 33: The Aggrieved Roar of the Celestial Lord
Seventh District, Industrial Sector, beneath an apartment building.
A burly man carried a two-meter-tall wardrobe on his left shoulder and a refrigerator as tall as a person on his right, loading each heavy item onto the truck one by one.
Song Qi couldn't stop wiping sweat from his brow.
Because this burly man was none other than the "Little Shen" the city lord had mentioned.
He was, in fact, Song Qi's own principal—Roaring Lord Shen Huiwu!
Song Qi knew Principal Shen was supposed to be on a date with Principal Lin today.
But who could have guessed that the "Little Shen" spoken of by the city lord was his own principal!
Just look at his build, his appearance, his strength—what about him could possibly be considered "little"?
Had Song Qi known that "Little Shen" was his principal, he would have firmly refused.
He sighed.
It was all the city lord's unreliability; who would have imagined he'd send a principal-level figure to help him move house?
Is that something anyone could even think of?
Boom!
A heavy object slammed down inside the truck. Principal Shen approached Song Qi with a forced smile that barely masked his displeasure.
"Esteemed Mr. Song Qi, all your belongings have been moved out. Is there anything else you need?"
"No, no, that's all. If you have things to attend to, Principal Shen, please go ahead. I can handle the rest myself—I know how to drive."
Principal Shen's eyes widened in disbelief.
"The city lord wants me to personally move you to your new home!"
"What could possibly be more important than the city lord's instructions?"
"Get in the truck! I'm your driver today!"
With that, he huffed and squeezed himself into the cab.
Song Qi shrank his neck and took the passenger seat, silent.
All the way, Principal Shen did not offer Song Qi so much as a pleasant glance.
Of course, he knew it wasn't really Song Qi's fault.
But he felt wronged!
He'd been single for decades.
He had finally gotten close to the beautiful Principal Lin.
First, he used Gongsun Wu Yue as an excuse to invite her out.
Then they'd strolled the streets together.
He'd spent money.
To keep the conversation lively, their topics ranged from nurturing the younger generation, to sharing professional insights, to the rise of humanity, and eventually even to romance, poetry, and song.
Heaven knows!
He was a rough man, spending his days fighting or training, and yet he'd managed to talk about literature for more than an hour.
His brain nearly exploded.
He endured from morning to night, and just as dusk was falling and Principal Lin was finally tired from the outing—even the hotel was booked.
And then...
A phone call from the city lord, and he had to rush over to be a mover!
Any normal man in this situation would be furious, no question.
"Perhaps it's just not fated yet. Alas..."
Principal Shen sighed deeply.
His mood eased a little.
Then he turned to Song Qi.
"But on the other hand, if not for this young man, I wouldn't even have had the chance to spend time with Principal Lin today."
"I suppose I owe him a favor."
After a moment's thought, Principal Shen asked,
"By the way, Song Qi, what level are you today?"
"Me? Level twelve," Song Qi answered honestly.
Principal Shen was startled, then couldn't conceal his joy.
Song Qi was his student; the more potential Song Qi showed, the more honor it brought him as principal.
"Twelve? That fast?"
"Good lad! No wonder the city lord values you so much."
Bang!
"Ah!—"
A massive slap landed on Song Qi's back, making him gasp.
"Oh, sorry, sorry. Forgot to restrain myself."
"No problem..."
Song Qi gritted his teeth.
He wasn't sure if Principal Shen was simply too excited to control his strength, or if he was just seeking revenge under the guise of a reason.
Regardless, Song Qi could only forgive him.
Seeing Song Qi wince in pain, Principal Shen's mood brightened further.
He laughed, then pulled out a skill book from his storage ring.
"Since you're already level ten, it's time to consider your second skill."
"You worked hard today, bringing Gongsun Wu Yue along for the dungeon, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to invite Principal Lin out."
"Consider this my thank-you gift."
"A gift?"
Song Qi rubbed his back and took the skill book.
[Skill Book: Mirror Image]
[Quality: Extraordinary]
[Restricted Class: Summoner]
[Effect: Allows the holder to learn the Mirror Image skill.]
[Skill Description: The summoner can create a duplicate possessing 50% of the summoned creature's base attributes; the duplicate cannot use skills, lasts for three hours, and has a six-hour cooldown.]
[Maximum Level: Cannot be upgraded]
An extraordinary-quality skill book, though it couldn't be upgraded, its effect was indeed impressive.
The skill was mainly supportive, yet could directly enhance combat power.
Unfortunately, Song Qi currently needed survival or defensive skills more.
He already had Lü Bu for combat, so that was less of a concern.
"What's wrong, not satisfied?"
Principal Shen caught Song Qi's hesitation and pulled out another book.
"Luckily, I prepared two skills of different types."
[Skill Book: Life's Sanctuary]
[Quality: Extraordinary]
[Restricted Class: Summoner]
[Effect: Allows the holder to learn Life's Sanctuary.]
[Skill Description: Creates a shield around the summoner; shield strength depends on the summoned creature's power and the summoner's mental attributes. If the shield is broken or dismissed, the summoned creature can be forcibly recalled.]
[Maximum Level: Cannot be upgraded]
"This one is perfect!"
Song Qi exclaimed in delight.
Although Life's Sanctuary was just extraordinary quality, its effect was superb and ideally suited for his current situation.
It effectively provided both a shield and a recall function.
Simple, but exactly what he needed now.
With this skill, he would no longer have to hide while tackling advanced dungeons.
"This one! Thank you, Principal."
With that, Song Qi handed back the Mirror Image skill book.
Principal Shen did not take it, merely glanced at it and spoke indifferently.
"Keep them both. I have no use for them anyway."
Song Qi wanted to say something, but suddenly—
Screech!!
The truck braked sharply, stopping in front of a standalone house with a yard.
"We're here. Get out."
This was the very house Song Qi's parents had chosen.
His parents and sister were already waiting at the gate.
"Oh my, such trouble for the principal—helping move, helping drive, and Song Qi doesn't even lend a hand!"
"Song Qi, hurry up and bring a stool for the principal, let him rest!"
Song Qi's parents, seeing Principal Shen unload items, hurried forward with warm greetings.
Principal Shen instantly adopted a different demeanor, like a hearty, friendly giant.
He offered a simple smile and easily unloaded the heavy items from the truck.
"No trouble, ma'am. I'm strong; let the kids rest a bit, I'll be done in no time."
...
Seated, Song Qi looked at the two skill books in his hands, feeling conflicted.
Both skill books suited him well.
Mirror Image wasn't useful for now, but would surely be invaluable later.
"It's alright, I'll repay the principal someday."
Comforting himself thus, Song Qi stored both skill books in his system inventory.
