Volume One, Chapter 137: Sang Wan, I Want to Kiss You!
“I knew it was you!”
Luo Ye said from inside the door, glancing back at Lu Xiaomu. “See? Wasn’t I right?”
In front of the chessboard spread out on the carpet, Lu Xiaomu scrunched his nose in defiance. “So what if you guessed right? What’s there to be so proud of?”
“Of course I’m proud.”
Luo Ye turned his gaze toward Sang Wan, his eyes gleaming with unmistakable pride.
Sang Wan knew then that he had run into Lu Jinnian.
Yet she didn’t even know how to ask.
Or what had happened.
That weekend evening guaranteed that Luo Ye’s phone wouldn’t stop ringing.
By the time Sang Wan stepped in to change her shoes and then went to the kitchen to wash some fruit, he had already answered several calls.
When Sang Wan returned to the living room, feeding the two pets named Blue Charm, she nudged Luo Ye with her foot. “Alright, you should go now. Xiaomu needs to sleep.”
“Mom, I…”
Lu Xiaomu tried to stall, not wanting to go to bed. But when he looked up and met Sang Wan’s stern expression, just like before, he fell silent.
Instead, his eyes pleaded silently with Luo Ye, hoping he would speak up for him.
For example, to say that he didn’t want to leave either, and wished to stay a little longer with Sang Wan.
But Lu Xiaomu was disappointed.
Luo Ye obediently stood up, ruffling his hair as he said, “Clean up the chessboard!”
“Sang Wan…”
Hooking a finger under his suit jacket slung over one shoulder, Luo Ye paused just inside the door and turned back to Sang Wan. “Do you want to know how your ex-husband looked tonight?”
The doorbell rang just as Sang Wan didn’t reply to his message.
Luo Ye knew then that the opportunity had arrived.
“I don’t know who rang the doorbell, though…”
He quickly distanced himself from any suspicion that he had deliberately opened the door.
Glancing at Lu Xiaomu diligently putting away the chess pieces, he lowered his voice, “I bet if the kid hadn’t been there, he would have jumped on me and started a fight!”
“Trying to maintain the father’s dignity in front of the child, he held back. That expression—tsk, tsk, tsk…”
Recalling the scene, Luo Ye’s face lit up with the same pride and excitement that Sang Wan had just witnessed.
Part of her thought he was childish.
Another part thought it didn’t matter—this day was bound to come sooner or later; one day’s difference was negligible.
Sang Wan pushed him out with a hint of annoyance. “You said he’s your ex-husband. His expression doesn’t concern me. As long as I know you’re in a good mood, that’s enough!”
“Really?”
Luo Ye squinted, scrutinizing Sang Wan. “You’re not angry?”
“Why should I be?”
Sang Wan retorted. “It was bound to happen sooner or later. You two met on your own, so I don’t have to be stuck awkwardly in the middle.”
!!!
Bang!
Bang! Bang!
Luo Ye’s once cautious heartbeat suddenly surged with force after a brief pause.
One voice asked: Does this count as an admission? Right?
Another voice stammered: Is it… really?
Does this mean he doesn’t have to endure waiting a whole month for her to think it over and give him a definite answer?
Right?

Right? Right?
“Sang Wan…”
His phone buzzed in his pocket, but he didn’t want to pay attention to it.
Behind him, Lu Xiaomu kept looking back anxiously on the carpet, but Luo Ye barely noticed.
Standing in the doorway, Luo Ye lowered his head to Sang Wan. “I want to kiss you!”
???
Every hair on her body stood on end, afraid he’d just do it.
Sang Wan decisively pushed Luo Ye away. “No, you don’t want to!”
She shoved him out the door.
But he grabbed her arm.
Sang Wan didn’t even realize how he managed it.
Buzz!
The door shut behind them.
“Meow, meow…”
Blue Charm inside cried anxiously.
Sang Wan looked up.
Luo Ye’s lips descended.
Carrying the tart sweetness of blueberries, his lowered gaze was filled with joyous affection as he looked into her eyes.
Sang Wan was stunned.
Luo Ye’s lips moved gently against hers. “Sang Wan, you finally admit who I am, don’t you?”
“I…”
“Mom!”
The door opened.
Accompanied by Lu Xiaomu’s puzzled voice.
The two quickly separated.
Luo Ye shot Lu Xiaomu a stern look.
The boy’s face was puzzled. “Uncle Ye, why haven’t you left yet?”
With a slightly annoyed expression, Luo Ye scooped up Blue Charm, who had slipped out through the door crack, and placed the pet in Lu Xiaomu’s arms, nodding. “Next time you act so recklessly, I’ll give you a good beating!”
Unaware of what had just happened, Lu Xiaomu nodded repeatedly, clutching Blue Charm and heading inside.
Luo Ye bent down to kiss Sang Wan on the cheek, then turned away nonchalantly.
Waving as he left, confident that Sang Wan was still watching him.
“Sang Wan!”
Sang Wan opened the door and heard Luo Ye calling her.
She turned back.
In the elevator doorway, Luo Ye shook his phone. “Remember me. And… interest plus three.”
“You…” Too much!!!
Ding!
Sang Wan didn’t even get to finish her protest.
The elevator doors closed.
Her cheeks flushed warm.
Her phone lit up.
[What should I do? You haven’t even left, but I’m already missing you!]
[Can I sneak back tonight and sleep in the living room?]

[Sang Wan, Sang Wan…]
Though it was just a name in the chat window, each “Sang Wan” sounded as if Luo Ye were softly holding her earlobe.
His voice was low, hoarse, and thick with emotion—intimate and electrifying.
Over and over again.
Sang Wan steeled herself. [No!]
After showering, she lay in bed.
At last, she asked, “Did Dad run into Uncle Ye when he brought you here?”
“Yeah.”
Lu Xiaomu nodded, snuggling closer into Sang Wan’s arms. “Mom, Dad was really scary.”
Sang Wan patted his back. “Then what happened?”
“Dad told Uncle Ye to leave, saying this is Mom’s home.”
Lu Xiaomu’s voice grew soft. “But Uncle Ye said this is his home, too. Uncle Ye invited Dad inside to sit down and said if he didn’t believe him, he could wait for Mom to come back… Dad didn’t say anything and wanted me to go home with him, but I refused…”
His voice trailed off, and he didn’t continue.
Yet Sang Wan seemed to understand.
Knowing Lu Jinnian’s character, he would never leave Lu Xiaomu behind.
But since Lu Xiaomu refused to go, he was at a loss.
In front was Luo Ye’s face, brimming with pride.
Behind was Lu Xiaomu’s downcast, unwilling-to-leave expression.
He could only leave with a parting phrase: “Then you stay home and wait for Mom,” venting his anger as he left.
Fortunately, he didn’t, like before, make frantic calls to question her.
Just as the thought crossed her mind, a faint light flickered in the dark bedroom.
Looking down at the already sleeping Lu Xiaomu,
Sang Wan turned to grab her phone and saw a message from Lu Jinnian.
[Sang Wan, are you asleep?]
[Are you free tomorrow? We need to talk.]
In the study of the Lu family villa, smoke curled through the air.
Lu Jinnian held a half-burned cigarette between his fingers.
Over the years, he rarely smoked except when someone offered one at social events.
Only because Sang Wan disliked the smell of smoke on him.
But now, the ashtray on the desk was filled with cigarette butts.
Blinking, his mind was filled only with Sang Wan’s words about love.
And the doorbell ringing, opening to reveal Luo Ye’s calm face, though his eyes were bursting with surprise and excitement.
While Sang Wan lived in the Wanxin apartment, Luo Ye came and went so openly?
Sang Wan, who had already started falling in love with Luo Ye—were they really… going out as a couple?
Going out as a couple.
The four words pierced Lu Jinnian’s heart, causing a painful twinge.
Ding.
His phone chimed softly.
