Chu Chen flicked the ash off his cigarette and walked toward the construction site outside.

"Young Master Chu is back. This old man is particularly interested in that beast of yours that can be ridden. I wonder if you might tell me a thing or two about it."

As soon as Chang Wei saw Chu Chen, he immediately walked over. Seeing Chu Chen return with young women earlier, it hadn't been appropriate for him to intrude, so he had held back.

"Ah, you mean that? It's not any fierce beast, just a self-propelled carriage, much like a horse," Chu Chen replied evasively, otherwise this old man would keep digging until he got to the bottom of it.

He quickly changed the subject: "Mr. Chang, I wonder when the house will be finished?"

Looking at the three women inside the house, he was indeed feeling rather troubled at the moment.

"Rest assured, Young Master Chu, you can move in within ten days."

Mentioning the house, Chang Wei's face beamed with pride once again.

Since there were no electric lights, Chu Chen suppressed the urge to go over and inspect it. Bidding farewell to Chang Wei, he turned and walked back home. He had drunk some wine at noon without eating much, and now he was feeling a bit hungry. Coincidentally, a fragrant aroma was drifting from the house.

At the dining table, Li Qinglian was long past surprised by the Simmons mattress Chu Chen had brought back. Looking at the two women, Li Qinglian naturally assumed that this so-called secretary was likely a concubine her husband had brought home, just lacking a formal title and status, which made it awkward to speak of openly. Otherwise, why would they have prepared such a massive bed?

After the meal, Chu Chen said to the three of them, "The new house isn't built yet, so I'll have to wrong the three of you and let you squeeze in together for now."

"And what about you?" Li Qinglian quickly asked. She had originally expected all four of them to sleep together tonight and had mentally prepared herself, but Chu Chen's remark completely disrupted her thoughts.

"I'll go squeeze in with Brother Huzi for a few nights. Mr. Chang just said we can move in a few days. By then, each of you can choose your own room."

With that, amidst the surprised looks of the three women, he exhaled a puff of smoke and walked out into the darkness.

Li Qinglian and the other two exchanged smiles, remaining silent. Luo Yi, on the other hand, felt that she and her companion had put their boss out. Still, it was no matter; once they moved into the new house, she would properly reward him then. She just wondered if the pure and gentle Sister Qinglian before her would have any thoughts about it.

Thus, the three of them finished washing up early and slipped under the covers, beginning their whispered pillow talk.

"Sister Qinglian, do you and... the boss usually do *that* on that bed you used before?"

"I looked at that flimsy little bed this afternoon. How could it possibly withstand any shaking?"

Li Qinglian looked puzzled and replied, "It doesn't shake. If you sleep without moving, it doesn't shake."

"Without moving? How on earth could you two not move?"

Luo Yi seemed to have realized something. Could it be that Chu Chen had not yet consummated his relationship with the woman before her...?

Thus, terribly shy and bold remarks began to emerge from the bed, causing the three women to burst into fits of giggles. In the pitch-black night, Li Qinglian's cheeks flushed crimson once again.

Meanwhile, Chu Chen was strolling leisurely toward his second uncle's house.

"Eh, kid Chu, why aren't you going back to sleep in the middle of the night? What brings you to my place?" Huzi asked, puzzled. He had seen it in the afternoon—this cousin of his had brought back two more beautiful women. Could it be, just as the rumors said, that this kid Chu had some sort of functional problem?

"Too many people at home. I'm sleeping with you tonight."

"What? Sleeping with me? What about your family?"

Huzi was even more astonished, then thought to himself, could this kid Chu possibly...

"I'm telling you, kid Chu, you're a grown man now, with a wife and concubines at home. You mustn't stray down the wrong path."

Hearing Huzi say this, Chu Chen gave him a kick straight out the door.

"What the hell are you thinking in that brain of yours? There are too many people at home and the bed is too small, there's no room. Where is your mind wandering? I am a normal man, stop talking nonsense and go to sleep."

With that, he walked toward Huzi's room on his own accord.

Huzi followed sheepishly behind him: *This kid Chu is getting a bit full of himself. A little money and he thinks he can float.* But he didn't dare say anything; after all, he was getting five taels of silver a month, so he would do whatever he was told.

"Kid Chu, I'm quite interested in that thing in your mouth that puffs out smoke. Can you..." Huzi asked with a smile. He felt that wherever Chu Chen went, he was puffing out smoke, and it looked immensely dashing.

"No, this stuff is poisonous." Chu Chen replied offhandedly. *As if! Get you hooked on this when I only have so many left in my dimensional space? How could I share?*

"Ah? Poisonous? If it's poisonous, why do you smoke it?" Huzi asked in terror.

"A joke! Who do I am? A disciple of an immortal, can you compare? Go to sleep."

Without another word, Chu Chen ignored Huzi and turned in for the night. Realizing the smoking thing was poisonous, Huzi extinguished the thought from his mind, stopped pondering it, and dropped off to sleep instantly.

In less than an hour, Chu Chen rubbed his drowsy eyes and kicked Huzi right out of bed again.

"Why are you kicking me? I've put up with you for a long time! If it weren't for the fact that you're younger than me, I'd make you relive your childhood!" Huzi scrambled up, glaring fiercely at Chu Chen.

"Uh, Brother Huzi, what did you eat for dinner?"

"Soybeans. Is there a problem?"

Chu Chen was on the verge of tears. This blockhead not only snored like thunder, but he was also continuously releasing exhaust gas into the air. That stench permeated the entire room.

Therefore, he said helplessly, "It's nothing, Brother Huzi. You go ahead and sleep, I'll go out for a walk."

Caught in the middle of a dream and kicked out of bed by Chu Chen, Huzi naturally had some lingering sleep-induced temper. Ignoring Chu Chen, he turned right back over and resumed his endless snoring.

Stepping outside the house, Chu Chen tightened his jacket. Winter nights really were chillingly cold, but the ancient night view was truly magnificent. The surroundings were pitch black, save for the moon and stars overhead, reflecting the sun's light and illuminating this vast earth.

Walking slowly along, he unconsciously wandered to a secluded hollow in the back mountain. Looking at the flat ground beneath his feet, he muttered, "A living man won't be defeated by a憋 (urge)," and slipped straight into his dimensional space.

When he emerged, he had an extra tent, an air mattress, a down duvet, and a small rechargeable night light in his hands. He efficiently pitched the tent and dived right inside.

There were no extra entertainment activities in Mashan Village at night, so everyone entered dreamland early. At this hour, no one would notice that dim little night light in the hollow.

However, there was one exception.

She had originally intended to check on Chu Chen's house to see why so many people couldn't fit inside. To her surprise, just as she approached his house, she saw Chu Chen walk out of Chu Dazhuang's place and head toward the back mountain. Out of curiosity, she followed him, wanting to see what this handsome and wealthy man was up to in the middle of the night.

To her astonishment, after lingering in the dark for a while, Chu Chen suddenly materialized a small house on the ground out of nowhere. What's more, it had light inside—could he be an immortal descending to the mortal realm?

Burning with even greater curiosity, she stepped closer.
