However, before Liu Feng could feel pleased, the wild boar suddenly bolted like a runaway horse, thundering away into the distance.
Liu Feng was momentarily stunned.
Fixing his gaze, he realized that the arrow had actually pierced straight through the boar's body, embedding deeply into the soil.
It seemed the boar hadn’t yet felt the pain, which was why it fled immediately after being struck.
“You think you can get away after I’ve almost caught you?” Liu Feng muttered under his breath.
He took a swift step forward, bent down to retrieve the arrow stained with the boar’s fresh blood, and chased after the fleeing animal.
Meanwhile, inside a thatched hut in Siwa Village, the Mu sisters were troubled as they stared at a piece of floral cloth.
With a faint furrow of her brows, after a moment of inner conflict, Meimei gently touched the fabric, her eyes filled with reluctance before softly closing the worn cabinet door.
The Mu sisters turned and stepped into the yard, slinging baskets over their arms and bending down to pick up small hoes as they headed outside.
Unbeknownst to them,
in a nearby corner, Li Ergou’s fierce eyes were fixated on the graceful figure before him.
Under the sunlight, his bald head gleamed coldly, his entire aura exuding an invisible menace that sent chills down one’s spine.
“Boss, I say we just tie that woman up right now!” one of his underlings licked his dry lips, staring intently at the swaying waist of the Mu sisters.
His gaze was filled with illicit thoughts, as if he could see through the tattered clothes to the scene beneath.
“Shut up!” Li Ergou snapped angrily, a ruthless glint flashing in his eyes. “If I could just tie her up, would I have to go through all this trouble?”
After a brief pause,
Li Ergou glanced toward the nearby forest, narrowing his eyes, and muttered, “That guy dares to go hunting out there? Doesn’t he fear the tigers?”
“Tomorrow, get a few more men. If he dares to venture into the mountains again, we’ll send him off for good!”
The underling nodded respectfully, a sinister smile creeping across his face.
Li Ergou looked back at the thatched hut ahead, a cold smile revealing his yellowed teeth. “But before that, let me give him a little gift first.”

By mid-morning,
Liu Feng’s coarse linen shirt was soaked through with sweat. Leaning against a tree trunk, hunched over, he gasped for breath.
He had been tracking the wounded boar for at least two miles.
The dense forest was oppressively stifling.
Moreover,
the refined steel spear strapped to his back, the bow and arrows in his hands with steel arrowheads, plus the thorny pears and wild rabbits hanging at his waist—while not overly heavy—still weighed him down.
“Damn it, it can still run this far after being shot through?” Liu Feng exhaled heavily, rolled his shoulders, and looked down at the blood staining the ground. “I want to see how far you can run!”
Following the intermittent trail of blood,
he pursued another half mile until he spotted the boar collapsed on the decI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
