Chapter 44: Do Not Forget (1)

How bad must this guy be if Mo Wang’s Axe Warrior, who always has the initiative, has a record of 0-7?
Li Guanqi stared at Mickey, utterly shocked.
Mo Wang wasn’t particularly strong, but definitely at a solid Tier 2 level. How could an Axe Warrior who always goes first be some nobody who lost seven matches in a row?
There had to be some trickery involved!
The two realms of combat gradually merged. Seeing himself about to be squeezed out, Mickey hurriedly unlocked Li Guanqi’s handcuffs and warned, “If you see anything strange—”
“Don’t believe it!”
“Everything is—”
Before he could finish, he was pushed out beyond the boundary of the realm, his voice unable to reach inside.
“Strange visuals?” Li Guanqi muttered.
A cold voice echoed through the high altitude.
[Priority: Red Side]
In single-realm duels, the intelligent referee randomly determines who goes first or second. In dual-realm duels, the intelligent referee uses a priority mechanism.
A projection popped up before Li Guanqi.
[Please select first or second move]
Before the duel officially began, Li Guanqi quickly checked his deck.
It was easy to understand—just like the “Yubel” deck, purely built on the archetype with some versatile spells and traps, the extra deck contained only archetype cards and one “Saya.”
“Saya” was a must-have for agents.
“So pure,” Li Guanqi murmured, putting the deck back into the duel disk.
“I choose to go first.”
[First move: Red Side]
[Duel Start]
Both duel disks automatically shuffled the decks, producing a rustling sound.
The woman in the red dress with the slit mouth stared at Li Guanqi, her gaze sharpening.
“Could you be—”
“0748?”
Li Guanqi was slightly taken aback; he hadn’t expected to be recognized even with a mask on.
“You think a mask can hide you?” The slit-mouth woman sneered. “No use.”
“Hehehe—”
She swallowed, licking her lips with a greedy look. “Such dense demonic power.”
Long-term mingling with a certain race could enchant one with their unique energy called Leadership Force.
Those who possess the same type of Leadership Force attract and sense one another.
The stronger the Leadership Force, the stronger the connection, summoning, and deterrence with that race’s monsters. To a certain extent, it even influences the position of corresponding monster cards in the deck.
“Nonsense,” Li Guanqi replied indifferently.
After four duels, three female duelists seemed somewhat unhinged.
The duel disks finished shuffling, and five cards popped into each player’s hand.

“Duel!” (x2)
Both sides simultaneously drew their opening hands.
Li Guanqi looked at his hand, frowning slightly.
Mo Wang, Mo Wang, Mo Wang—five Mo Wang cards.
“How do you play Mo Wang again?”
“Forgot.”
Li Guanqi suddenly remembered that he wasn’t a Mo Wang player himself—he had never been the pig but had seen many pigs run.
Well, now it was his turn to be the pig.
“Thinking.”
He looked at his hand and said out loud out of habit, momentarily forgetting he was in Biantana, where he didn’t need to explain his thinking to the opponent.
The intelligent referee provided no thinking time service; if no action was taken within thirty seconds, it would automatically proceed to the next phase.
From the draw phase to the end of the main phase, he could think for up to ninety seconds.
“Want to see the effect live?” The slit-mouth woman chuckled lightly. “You really underestimate me.”
Li Guanqi ignored her and, after confirming the card effects, selected a card and slapped it down: “Summon—”
“[Mo Wang Dark Sword]!”
A swordsman clad in silver armor, face hidden in shadows, wielding a sword emitting a faint eerie glow.
“Such strong killing intent...”
Li Guanqi stared for a moment before snapping back: “Activate [Dark Sword]’s effect, destroy one Mo Wang monster on your field, special summon a level 3 or lower Mo Wang monster from your deck.”
Just as he thought the effect would resolve smoothly—
The slit-mouth woman grinned ferociously and threw down a card: “Chain activate [Effect Shroud]!”
“Nullify [Dark Sword]!”
White feathers fluttered down like snow.
“So there’s a hand trap,” Li Guanqi was slightly surprised, slapping down a card to chain: “Chain three, [Mo Wang Bone Party].”
“Destroy the field’s [Dark Swordsman], special summon [Mo Wang Hypnotic Sheep].”
The [Dark Swordsman] was pierced and shattered by white bones, dodging the feathers falling from above.
“Tsk.” The slit-mouth woman frowned and clenched her teeth lightly. “Good tactic.”
“Oh—” Outside the realm, Mickey suddenly realized, “Is that how it’s played?!”
He immediately set up a camera.
Recording started!
He had a hunch this would be a meaningful duel.
Biantana’s hand traps weren’t many, usually just [Effect Shroud], but thankfully Mo Wang was a very archetype-focused, quick-attack deck that could dodge traps and expand.
“Resolving [Dark Swordsman]’s effect,” Li Guanqi continued, “destroy [Mo Wang Hypnotic Sheep], special summon—”
“[Mo Wang Archfiend Witch]!”
A fierce wind whipped through the realm; black wings stretched wide in the air as a witch in a red dress descended on a broomstick.
“Activate—” Li Guanqi raised his hand to call the effect.

The cards on the duel disk shook violently.
Suddenly, a wave of oppressive aura descended from midair, making it hard to breathe.
It was the gaze of the Mo Wang Archfiend Witch, looking down on him with murderous intent.
The card spirit resisted.
When the spirit’s intelligence was high enough, it would “recognize” its wielder.
This deck recognized only Mickey.
Despite Mickey’s 0-7 record against weak opponents, despite his incompetence, the deck only accepted him. High-spirit cards resisted or even self-destructed if handled by others.
Seeing this, the slit-mouth woman laughed loudly: “Naive person. She seems to dislike you. Be careful not to break the cards.”
“Hiss—” Li Guanqi took a deep breath.
His plan for proxy dueling was ruined.
Previously, when he played proxy in tournaments, earning three hundred thousand, he had this idea.
Back in university, he often proxy dueled for KC or DC’s gold and silver heads, or ladder kings, or national server stars, earning a few hundred to a thousand pocket money each month.
Borrowing Mickey’s deck wasn’t just about the thrill; it was mostly to proxy for resources.
Now he had nothing—just a strange shadow and a dueling mind—planning to keep freeloading off Mickey.
But the deck actually recognized its owner?
Then why didn’t the Yubel deck resist him?
“I’m fine~” Mickey sensed what was happening and shouted loudly into the realm.
Though his voice shouldn’t have carried inside, the Mo Wang Archfiend Witch seemed to hear and relaxed her expression somewhat.
Seeing this, Li Guanqi hurriedly said, “Activate [Archfiend Witch]’s effect, search for a Mo Wang monster other than itself.”
“Chain activate [Hypnotic Sheep]’s effect, send [Mo Wang Attic Monster] to the graveyard.”
A chestnut-like monster was hypnotized into the graveyard. The Archfiend Witch circled in midair and displayed a light screen showing cards available to add to the hand.
“I add [Mo Wang Seahorse] to my hand.”
“Then activate [Attic Monster]’s graveyard effect; this card special summons itself, and immediately activates its other effect to add [Hypnotic Sheep] from the graveyard to the hand.”
The Attic Monster slowly climbed out of the graveyard, exerting every last effort to drag Hypnotic Sheep up.
Perhaps due to amnesia, the Attic Monster looked up at the sky with a cute blank expression.
The Attic Monster looked at the sky, Li Guanqi looked at the Attic Monster, and for some reason, he saw the phantom of a chestnut ball on it.
Mickey’s earlier words echoed in his mind.
“If you see anything strange—”
“Don’t believe it!”
“Everything is—”
Everything what? Why don’t you just say it!
