Chapter 54 Is My Old Man a Supervillain?
Page 1/3
Goodrian was unaware that in Lu Mingfei’s mind, Kassel Academy had become synonymous with an asylum. Although he could have confessed everything unknown to Lu Mingfei, the presence of others made it inconvenient to break protocol, so he had to express himself tactfully:
“Have you seen ‘Star Wars’? To us, you’re the next Luke Skywalker. Kassel Academy needs you.”
“Oh, so my old man was a supervillain after all. No wonder he refused to show up all these years—he must’ve been plotting to wipe out the Jedi and seize control of the Galactic Empire.”
Lu Mingfei exclaimed dramatically, “That’s absolutely amazing.”
Honestly, he now suspected his missing parents had stumbled upon some lost kingdom of Loulan, filled with zombies, mummies, and science freaks.
“Uh, that’s just a metaphor,” Goodrian realized he’d misspoken and swiftly changed the subject.
“By the way, Mingfei, were you the one who saved Gao Mi just now? I saw two corpse guards lying there, both with a single bullet to the head. How did you shoot so accurately? Did you practice before?”
He knew Lu Mingfei scored full marks in military training shooting but never imagined he could hit targets so precisely in such harsh conditions.
“I carry a USB drive with me,” Lu Mingfei said offhandedly, cutting off any follow-up questions.
“Did you report this massive operation to the local government and police? I tried to call the police just now, but the signal was bad. Did you tamper with it? Conducting illegal activities within our borders is already a diplomatic issue, right? Kassel Academy is acting so recklessly; surely there’s some transnational organization backing you?”
After rattling off a string of accusations, he suddenly covered his mouth, realizing, “Ah, I’ve seen too much I shouldn’t have. You’re not going to silence me, are you?”
Goodrian quickly reassured his frightened soul: “No, no. Your parents are honored alumni of Kassel Academy. We won’t harm you. Besides, our mission is to maintain world order. If these things were exposed, they would only cause public panic.”
“I see,” Lu Mingfei nodded. Indeed, Kassel Academy’s arrogance must be backed by powerful people. To act so brazenly at home, their protectors must be formidable.
Damn traitors—one day, I’ll kill you all.
Recalling how the Black Prince Group disintegrated last life, with the Shao family severing ties to survive abroad, now they had grown strong, probably by clinging to foreign powers.

Lu Mingfei jotted down the Black Prince Group in his little notebook, planning to go to the UK someday to have Shao Fatty taken away by national security.
“Is Kassel Academy some kind of arms factory? Ye Sheng and Jiu Deya Ji were busy with internships related to this stuff?”
“That’s not far off. Most graduates from our academy end up in similar work,” Goodrian nodded.
Lu Mingfei awaited the confirmation and pressed on.
“So, when you said Chu Zihang participated in a physics competition, was he actually running around performing physics exorcisms like this?”
“Uh…” Goodrian was momentarily at a loss for words, suddenly feeling that being too outstanding was a curse.
At least, that was Lu Mingfei now—young minds spinning too fast. He felt he was losing control of this conversation.
“Kassel Academy actually sends students to the battlefield? Aren’t you afraid parents will sue? Or are the judges and juries on your side?” Lu Mingfei fired questions rapidly.
“What’s your casualty rate during missions? What percentage graduate without injuries? Do students develop PTSD? What jobs are assigned after graduation…”
Enough! If you ask more, you’ll know what color my underwear is!
Goodrian grimaced, unsure how to handle Lu Mingfei’s endless questions, so he feigned deafness and pressed on.
Suddenly, as they approached the main camp, a dozen grotesque, blue-faced, fanged, deformed creatures burst out.
The soldiers, who had never ceased suppressive fire, quickly shifted their aim, but manpower was limited. They were nearly surrounded by corpse guards on the ground, and some leapt down from the trees for an aerial attack!
“Roar—!!!”
Under the strong flashlight beam, the bronze-colored monsters lunging from the dark canopy looked terrifyingly real:
Their twisted faces resembled fiendish ghosts from hell, every inch of skin etched with the marks of decay and time, like shriveled mummies exuding a thick stench of death. Their eyes glowed molten gold, flickering with brutal and sinister light.
Their gaunt, shriveled bodies were covered in fine scales, yet their shrunken muscles held power far beyond normal humans, effortlessly vaulting over the frontline soldiers.
Their millennia-dormant, blood-red jaws let out a chilling roar, black claws like death’s scythes shredded the night air as they lunged fiercely at the heavily laden Goodrian.
Death was but a hair’s breadth away, leaving the inexperienced foreign elder panicked. He withdrew his right hand from Gao Mi’s knee to reach for his sidearm.
But a hand was faster—it seized the Walther PPK, caliber 7.65mm, muzzle velocity 280m/s, effective range 50m, before he could.
“Good taste. James Bond also uses this gun.”

A soft chuckle sounded beside him, immediately followed by a deafening blast nearby—the Walther PPK’s trigger had been pulled.
“Bang—!!!”
The shot rang like a dragon’s roar; the bullet sliced through the air like a streak of light, killing the enemy instantly.
The muzzle flash illuminated Goodrian’s blind spot as the 7.65mm bullet pierced the corpse guard’s molten gold pupil with pinpoint accuracy.
The specialized bullet pierced the thin membrane covering the eyeball; its terrifying kinetic energy instantly destroyed the circular visual organ, then penetrated deep into the skull to unleash its full power.
“Pop!” went the crisp sound, as if an invisible hand crushed the corpse guard’s head; fragments of skull and brain tissue scattered, and a foul stench filled the air.
A routine headshot, yet Lu Mingfei barely restrained the burning ache in his arm muscles, adjusted his aim, and pulled the trigger again.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!”
Four shots in rapid succession, each a headshot. Such spectacular performance nearly made Goodrian fall to his knees, shouting “Jesus, God, and the Virgin Mary!”
Four headless bodies collapsed to the ground, soon surpassed by the others. Lu Mingfei shook his numb hand, gritting his teeth:
“Who’s the madman who modified this gun? The recoil’s like a damn cannon!”
He knew the sniper rifle had been specially altered; he expected Goodrian’s personal defense weapon to be at most as powerful as a Desert Eagle. He never imagined it would nearly rival a Smith & Wesson M900!
“Definitely those lunatics in the equipment department. They always turn guns into cannons, and cannons into missiles—a bunch of neurotics with firepower deficiency syndrome!” Goodrian quickly passed the blame; he wasn’t taking this one.
The Walther PPK had never been fired in Goodrian’s hands—it was like a kind-hearted gun. No one suspected it could be so twisted, a butcher among firearms.
But more terrifying than the weapon’s power was Lu Mingfei’s terrifying precision, firing four shots single-handedly against brutal recoil, each hitting a headshot.
Such an exaggerated display forced Goodrian to ponder one thing:
“Mingfei, have you awakened?”
