“The enemy possesses a Stand ability capable of creating illusions. No matter how many of us enter together, we will be divided, surrounded, and defeated one by one. It’s better if Jotaro, Kakyoin, and I go ahead to scout, while you all stay outside, ready to provide support at any moment...” Joseph did not become careless despite understanding the enemy’s ability. Even when confident, he chose the most prudent strategy.

“If it’s just illusions, there’s nothing to worry about. No illusion can fool my eyes,” Polnareff said calmly.

As a master of advanced Observation Haki, even when deprived of his five senses, he could continue fighting using his Observation Haki.

Unless the enemy’s Observation Haki was stronger and could deceive even that, no illusion, no matter how realistic, would matter.

Moreover, the enemy’s Stand only created deceptive visual illusions, unable even to fool Iggy’s keen sense of smell. What chance did he have against Polnareff?

“Very well, everyone, be as careful as possible...”

Seeing that usually reliable Jotaro had no objections, Joseph grit his teeth and nodded, leading the group into DIO’s mansion.

However, the instant they stepped inside, the surroundings suddenly transformed into a bottomless abyss!

‘Flash!’

Before anyone could react, a dazzling white light flickered, and the abyss vanished, revealing the mansion’s entrance once more.

“Wah... ah...” Polnareff’s scream came belatedly. Facing his companions’ strange gazes, he wished he could stab the scoundrel who created the illusion into a hornet’s nest.

“That Stand user who made the illusion...” Joseph narrowed his eyes at Polnareff, still unable to understand what had just happened.

He guessed in his heart that the illusion’s sudden disappearance probably had something to do with Mr. Polnareff.

“Yeah, I took care of it along the way,” Polnareff said casually.

Playing with illusions in front of a master of advanced Observation Haki was tantamount to gambling with one’s life.

“Let’s move on!”

Jotaro didn’t dwell on the defeated enemy; his only target was DIO!

Everyone agreed—so easily disposing of one foe left the Stardust Crusaders eager to eliminate the rest.

Soon, a grand hall appeared before them.

As the first true opponent inside the mansion, someone awaited them there.

“Welcome, esteemed guests. I am Terence T. D’Arby, Lord DIO’s butler,” said a young man with distinctive markings on his forehead, nose, and chin. Rising to his feet, D’Arby remained relaxed despite facing six people and a dog uninvited.

“What is your relation to Daniel J. D’Arby?” Joseph asked, expressionless. D’Arby’s Stand ability was dangerous; the seasoned elder sought to unsettle him.

“My useless older brother being remembered by esteemed guests means his death was not in vain,” D’Arby smiled, seemingly unaware of Joseph’s probing.

These followers of DIO were nothing but pure villains; ordinary emotions were burdens to them.

“Don’t waste words with him. Let me handle this!” Polnareff, stung by his earlier embarrassment, stepped forward. His Stand, Silver Chariot, charged at D’Arby.

“That won’t do... As Lord DIO’s butler, letting you pass here would be a serious dereliction of duty!”

Using his Stand’s ability, D’Arby perfectly predicted Silver Chariot’s attack trajectory and effortlessly dodged Polnareff’s rapid assault.

Watching this, the group’s expressions darkened.

Though they had known about D’Arby’s partial mind-reading ability, facing it in reality was prickly.

This was only part of his power; without knowing D’Arby’s full capabilities, defeating him was nearly impossible.

“Bastard! Stop dodging and fight!” Polnareff growled, his temper flaring. With DIO so close yet blocked by D’Arby, his frustration mounted.

“How about a game? If you beat me in a video game, I might just clear the way for you...” D’Arby said cheerfully.

With so many Stand users here, turning them into puppets would be fantastic.

Even among D’Arby’s collections, there were few Stand users, and among them were Joseph and Jotaro of the Joestar bloodline.

If he could offer these Joestars’ blood to Lord DIO, DIO would surely regard him more highly!

“Mind-reading, huh? Too bad you’re so vile; otherwise, you’d make a great human lie detector...” Polnareff exchanged a glance with Jotaro and then stood up.

Though a strategy to defeat D’Arby had been shared in their dimensional chat group, D’Arby’s power was too dangerous. Having witnessed their comrades’ deaths, Jotaro didn’t want to risk more.

Polnareff didn’t mind lending a hand.

No matter how much he enjoyed slacking off, he had borne the mantle of justice for decades as a Marine.

Villains like DIO and his minions were like red-name players with built-in aggro in a game to Polnareff—seeing them was an invitation to strike.

“Heh, still not giving up? Let me see if you’ll attack left... right... or center...”

The smile on D’Arby’s face faded, replaced by a tense, confident expression frozen in place. His gaze shifted from mockery to fear as he looked at Polnareff.

Though Polnareff only raised a finger, D’Arby seemed to witness some horrifying apocalypse.

“No need to guess—I’m indecisive, so I choose all of them!”

A brilliant light shone from Polnareff’s fingertip. In the next moment, countless beams of light erupted, peppering D’Arby like a sieve, leaving no room to dodge or escape.

This move was developed before Polnareff mastered Observation Haki, forcing targets to rely solely on their defense.

Clearly, D’Arby was not the type to withstand such an onslaught.

With a single strike, Polnareff eliminated this troublesome Stand user.

At that moment, Jotaro’s comrades finally realized just how formidable the ally Jotaro had brought truly was!
