When Li Kun saw that the red-haired corpse demon moved with such speed, he immediately shouted out in surprise, calling my name. Seeing this, I knew I couldn’t wait any longer. Grabbing the Soul-Cleaving Blade, I dashed desperately toward where Li Kun was.
Fortunately, Li Kun’s strength was considerable. At that moment, he lay on the ground, the red-haired corpse demon’s jaws wide open, biting toward Li Kun’s face. But Li Kun’s hands were firmly pressing against the demon’s neck.
However, the demon’s strength was overwhelming, turning Li Kun’s face red as he struggled to hold the demon’s head with all his might. Seeing Li Kun restrain the demon’s neck, I raised the Soul-Cleaving Blade and plunged it forcefully into the demon’s neck.
The moment the blade struck, I felt a tremendous resistance, but I didn’t hesitate. If the Soul-Cleaving Blade couldn’t kill this red-haired corpse demon, none of us would make it out alive. I grasped the blade with both hands, summoning all my strength, and struck down hard again. A tearing sound rang out as I severed more than half of the demon’s head.
Li Kun, underneath the demon, felt the grip on his neck loosen significantly. Then, the demon’s head slowly drooped downward. This terrified Li Kun, who screamed out and used all his strength to push the demon away. Because I was still on the demon’s back, Li Kun’s push sent me flying off.
I landed hard on the ground, then turned my head toward Li Kun. Seeing he was unharmed, I finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Sweat covered Li Kun’s forehead as he panted, staring at the demon’s body. The head wasn’t completely severed—it hung by some skin and flesh. When Li Kun pushed, the demon’s body rolled over 360 degrees, the connected head flipped onto its chest, pinned beneath the neck by the demon’s weight.
We thought the demon was surely dead, but to our horror, its body twitched slightly and then, with trembling effort, it rose to stand again.
The head, still attached by flesh, dangled over the chest, its crown facing the ground, yet the body managed to stand unsteadily.
At this, Xu Tian, the three of us cursed aloud. Li Kun exclaimed, “Damn, how can this thing still live after losing its head?”
I was stunned too. A corpse demon with its head rolled over yet still standing defied everything we knew about zombies.
Li Kun hurried over to me and helped me to my feet, asking, “Old Liu, what do we do now?”
I said, “It’s fine. The head’s been cut off. It can’t see—it’s a sitting duck now. We can handle it any way we want.”

Just as I finished speaking, Xu Tian and Big Dog also came running over. After a few moments of observation, we noticed a problem: the headless demon wandered inside the tomb chamber, but the head on its chest gave us chills.
We turned to look at the other red-haired corpse demon, which remained motionless at the corridor entrance, as if oblivious to the one wandering inside.
At this, Xu Tian proposed a plan. “I have an idea, though II'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
